Musty, green soap
Burberry Touch is different to say the least. I'm not usually a lover of green and soapy scents, however this fragrance charms me.

This fragrance opens with a sharp, green bitterness which tends to rather masculine. Despite being turned off by this opening I was intrigued by it and kept bringing my wrist to my nose to smell it over and over again.

In a way I wanted this fragrance to turn creamy and slightly sweet, however in the heart it is mostly a powdery and soapy scent. The notes are very light, almost undetectable. It's like the composition has been mixed so well that it's hard to identify any particular notes.

Some would call this powdery floral mediocre, but I find it to be much more complex than it seems. The way it settles on the skin is very delicate, it becomes a scent that isn't just perfume, it is like a natural part of yourself, a natural skin scent.

This fragrance lingers on your skin for hours and I never get sick of it. It is so enticing that I can barely stop smelling it. The overall impression is a light, pretty and inoffensive fragrance best suited for daytime/casual wear.

Opening 9, Dry Down 5
As opposed to some other reviews, I love the fresh vegital opening. It’s in the dry down where I run into issues. If I’m being honest, they should have skipped the addition of vanilla which seems not to blend well with the florals and fresh pepper note in this. There’s a celery aspect to the fragrance which would have been fantastic had things been kept fresh and fruity. Celery and warm woody vanilla is not a keen combo however.

Y2K lotiony heaven!
You'll never read me saying - 'You're wrong, I'm right.' regarding any fragrance, ever. But...there are times when I'll say something akin to - 'I truly cannot understand what you guys are experiencing, and disagree with your perception entirely.'

This is one of those times.

I don't relate to any of the unsavory remarks about this perfume whatsoever. But, I was admittedly, more intrigued *because* of them (and not in spite of them). I went out to my car to check perfume sites and get a feel for what this might have in store for me before returning to Ross to purchase it. And FWIW, all of the perfume sites/resources I checked have conflicting notes (this is not an uncommon occurrence, but it's annoying...I have my suspicions as to which is more correct or incorrect, but I'm gonna stay quiet about that). All of this to say, reviews are all over about this, references disagree as to the notes, and it's seemingly a polarizing fiasco. Naturally, I was completely compelled and purchased it, hah!

I love this. It's a seemingly incongruent batch of notes, but it works. It's not nearly as cedar-y or sharply woody as I anticipated, nor as fruity. In fact, I get barely any fruits whatsoever in the opening, and it goes STRAIGHT into a plushy, almondy, powdery sandalwood blend.

I get NO pepper. No pink pepper. Nothing spicy and/or red. The entire composition feels 100% beige to me.

People have claimed this is masculine. And...I vehemently disagree. I'm actually struck by how sensually femme it is. "Touch" is a FANTASTIC title. It's clean, feminine, dry (I'd love to wear this when it's rainy) and reminiscent of cleaned and lotioned skin. However, it's not a modern "your skin, but better" (I'm so sick of that phrase, gag me...), it smells dated (which isn't criticism, it's refreshing). Like lotion or body oils from the Y2K era. Weirdly, I don't find any references to orris, but it's what I would've bet money on it containing.

This is the kind of scent I admired as a kid. I was either 8, 9 or 10 when this was launched (again, the sources on this are a mess and disagree). As a child though, I was exposed to this sort of thing, but never wore it. To to have this bottle now is a fabulous and nostalgic gift to myself (this was my bday present to myself).

I'm very happy with this, had a great gut feeling about it, and I'm thrilled that I listened.

Understatement
Today I continued to store my perfumes on shelves, and I must shamefully admit that there were also some freshly wrapped, unopened boxes among them.
Among them was Touch. I finally uncovered its secret and was pleased by the pleasant, unexcited scent that gently enveloped me. Very subtle - very British.
Just like the beautiful Burberry wardrobe and the lovely bags of this label, it is an eye-catcher upon a second glance.
The orange and the blackcurrant are refreshing, yet the rose oil is wonderfully old school and reminds me of the well-kept English gardens that shine with their old Austin roses.
Cedar and vanilla suggest cozy fireplace gatherings in country houses and make the scent comforting.
Here, understatement is written in capital letters, and that is precisely what touches me.
All Barnaby and Miss Marple fans will feel addressed and mentally stroll through Cornwall.

Natural Scent
I love spending time in nature, and a fragrance that could put me in that mood would be great. At first, the scent seemed like it could do just that... So light, fresh, unobtrusive... Like taking a breath of fresh air... with a hint of pine.
Later, it became very close to the skin, extremely subtle and featherlight. Like forest air.
So far, so good. I can't pick out individual notes; rather, everything creates an overall impression. I thought the scent is suited for gentle souls or someone who wants a hint of fragrance around them that is refreshing. Later, the composition reminded me of the Hermes DNA, which I have not been able to warm up to until now. I could also imagine the scent on a man; it has something unisex about it. I don't find it sweet.
I find it unusual; I haven't smelled many similar fragrances until now.
It has something; it doesn't need to stand out through "loudness." It somehow fits the clichéd idea of reserved Brits. The design of the bottle also fits the overall concept and I like it a lot. Maybe I'll take it with me into the hustle and bustle of the city to see if it can keep its "promise."

A very fruity and fresh skin scent. Perfect for summer, offices and commuting. Longevity and sillage are nil, but the scent is very nice.

The warm companion to Touch for men. Both are powdery. There is a note of chili pepper that's not listed. It's spicy and sexy yet soothing.

I adore this scent, the opening is very sharp, but it settles down in to a very nice, calm scent, especially on the skin.

I expected spicy chilli not not a sweet pepper prominent in the opening. It's fresh like a vegetable salad with a grassy bitter undertone.

I definitely smell basil next to fruits & flowers here. It makes the scent quite interesting. Fresh and a bit spicy. TOP!

Fresh, cheerful floral scent with a hint of raspberry and a light powdery vanilla. Always wearable, but best enjoyed in summer, even at the office.

Burberry has developed some great fragrances. Unfortunately, this isn't one of them. Synthetic mainstream without anything special.

Reminds me a lot of Volupté by Oscar de la Renta; the same sharp green plant juice association mixed with peach shower gel; strange.
