Perfume in the Lens
Davidoff is not the only one with their Champion fragrances who appropriates everyday objects as perfume bottles and distorts them. Max Deville, a rather unknown brand here, fills their Camera fragrances into replicas of SLR camera lenses.
An original idea - can the same be said about the fragrances?
Max Deville is priced in the drugstore segment, so one shouldn't expect too much. They are likely everyday scents that you might grab if they happen to be sitting on the washstand in the morning - synthetic, a bit scratchy, and somewhat sweet.
Camera Long Lasting is a bright, spicy scent - it stylistically reminds one a bit of Caron's Le 3iéme Homme, but is certainly of a lower quality. The top note is opulent, complex, and a little sharp - somewhat like a cheap men's cologne. After about half an hour, a bright, spicy character emerges, supported by a light sweetness that may come from one of those synthetic, musk-like notes that are so often found on drugstore shelves.
I have not discovered the Max Deville fragrances anywhere in Germany, but they are available on Amazon. I owe this experience to AromiErotici, as the sample has had an undeserved world tour. Camera Long Lasting is an eye-catcher, but nothing more.
