One still goes to "Maxim's"

Even today, a visit to "Maxim's" in Paris is still a pleasure!
After the takeover of the famous and often sung-about establishment by the versatile fashion designer Pierre Cardin in 1981, this place experienced an unprecedented renaissance.
I still remember how amazed we were back then, as we had some of his fashionable accessories in our closets.
But it's not just the male world that goes "to Maxim's" these days; not only the variety show, but also an excellent restaurant and an Art Nouveau museum have since attracted international guests.

Thus, the women's fragrance of the same name, launched in 1984, is no mysterious dark entity, but exudes spirit, paired with summery elegance. It is still a pleasure to adorn oneself with this floral-chypre-like scent.

The opening already offers surprising variety:
Rich, dark moss and spicy mint are accompanied by the fine aroma of fruity watermelons and the well-known bergamot fruit freshness.
A beautiful entrée for the classic floral garden at the heart of the fragrance, where all the beauties we love meet:
Rich, ripe rose aromas, amidst sensual white floral scents from a variety of jasmine, lily of the valley, and tuberose blossoms, gracefully proclaim the joys of summer.
Ylang Ylang vines with their light honey-scented flowers tie a bow around this magnificent bouquet, over which proud iris ladies lay a net of fine powder.
This hint of honey that the ylang ylang flowers gift us intensifies further along the fragrance journey.
But here, honey is truly in play: light blonde, creamy honey, whose scent tells of many flowers, grasses, and other stopovers of the bees that collect it - how delightful!
Warm musk-vanilla, accompanied by dark violet heliotrope scent, initially adds more sweetness, but the creamy, slightly masculine animalic note of sandalwood, in conjunction with noble amber nuances, sets a refined counterpoint.

"Maxim's de Paris pour Femme" grants us and this composition the time needed for full fragrance development.
The path to the radiant finale is anything but arduous: Many different facets of the numerous fragrance notes provide us with charming lightness with a distinctly Parisian flair.

How timeless this fragrance seems: In Paris, one still goes to "Maxim's"!

Amazing what you can pick up on. I only took a quick sniff of that one, and it didn't blow me away. I probably should have spent a bit more time with it. Very interesting scent progression.

That sounds lush, almost extravagantly magnificent there at Maxim's.. I would have loved to be there.

Very nice description. It might be a bit too fruity fresh for me. I would prefer the "mysteriously dark essence" :-)

I have a small old mini bottle and I think the scent is amazing. And your review is just as great!

Your wonderful fragrance description is a highlight of your review, and I really like it! At Maxim's, I'm more drawn to the classic cabaret than the Art Nouveau museum; I'd prefer the haute cuisine restaurant! But anyway, a visit is definitely worth it, and the perfume is surely worth more than just a consideration!
