A sea of ears sways gently in the wind,...
...in gentle waves the hot midday breeze sweeps through the grain fields and a barely noticeable, soft rustling delights the ear. The further the gaze stretches against the azure horizon, the clearer the waves of the finely structured, yellow ocean become. High up in the sky, static cirrus clouds draw their fine, white streaks. The lightly vibrating soundscape of the crickets is carried by the summer heat, underscoring the pleasantly felt, transcendent daze. A gentle gust of wind carries from afar the luscious sweetness of the orange groves, blending the aroma with the husky bitterness of the fields and the slightly spicy sea air into...
... - sorry for the abrupt cut, ladies and gentlemen -, a captivatingly synthetic overall composition. This is sobering, I know, but at some point we have to arrive in reality. I must admit, as excellent as Agrumi di Sicilia is at evoking daydreams, its aromatic play ultimately proves to be less enchanting on the skin.
Agrumi di Sicilia lets one glide away and perfectly depicts the ideal image of southern flair and fragrance. This is surprising, as we are dealing with a scent that is neither distinguished by the quality of its ingredients nor by the ingenuity of its composition. The opening is marked by a slightly watery, orange sweetness that somewhat - forgive me the comparison - reminds me of Capri Sun. As it develops, greenish-floral attributes of conciliatory bitterness join in, rather of a synthetic nature than an organic one. And towards the end, it becomes ozonic-aquatic, a slightly piercing, aquamarine-turquoise impression of scent that alluringly partners with the remaining citrus notes.
Despite its rather artificial character, Agrumi di Sicilia regularly evokes the images described above in me. I cannot judge why, and ultimately it does not matter much. The fact is that Agrumi di Sicilia has worked its way up from an initial 50% rating on the scale to a respectable 70%. While the scent initially seemed unworthy to me, I have since grown fond of it and look forward to sporadic daydreams ignited by this oddly successful, synthetic touch.

With your wonderful description and a subtle enthusiasm that can be sensed, it must not be that bad after all. I just think the sillage might be a bit too weak for me.

If it evokes such beautiful images in you, then I'll add it to my wishlist for now! Trophy in azure blue...

"Artificial" also comes from "art" - and as long as the images are as beautiful as you describe, maybe the rest can be overlooked. I've kind of fallen for the monotheme scents anyway, heaven knows why.
