Unfortunately, this is a real blind buy mistake, as I was misled by the original Explorer and misclassified the fragrance notes. At first, Explorer Platinum comes across as briefly fresh, green, and woody, but already distinctly piercing. The violet leaf adds a slightly metallic freshness that presents itself briefly but immediately turns into a synthetic green sharpness. After 2 to 3 minutes, a slightly musty, damp stickiness develops on my skin. The freshness has vanished, as the piercing green notes quickly dominate.
After a few minutes, a clear coconut water accord emerges on the skin, likely derived from the clary sage and ambroxan-like woods. This note feels watery-damp, slightly sweet, and at the same time penetrating, almost like a synthetic-creamy, moist layer. As a result, the fragrance takes on a powerful, musty-damp character that completely swallows the initial freshness.
In the further course, practically nothing else happens.
The coconut water-like, synthetic-damp note remains linear for hours. The musty wood notes stay present and over time create a headache-inducing, monotonous impression. An absolute mistake for me.
