Woody, Resinous, Probably Unisex
From first spray, Ocre Dore announces itself as a dry, woody, resinous scent. There's limited green at this stage, but the spice and very light tea note makes this seem like one sitting on a log in the woods on a hot summer's day, sipping chai tea.

The galbaneum in this just becomes more prominent as it wears on, lending a more intense resinous feel that is laced with a mild patchouli. This is the unfurling of the heart of Ocre Dore, and so it is beautifully laced with a curtain of oakmoss. There's something else that I can't put a finger on, maybe it's the mate and white truffle?

As it dies down, a little more green and labdanum shows up to balance out the woodiness, making the scent more "whole" - a resinous wood that for some reason, is almost tasty and warm.

The overall woodiness of Ocre Dore lends some masculinity to this fume, which is listed as one for women. I would say that this is what a woman would wear to feel in control, but a man could definitely pull this off without any problems.

Sillage was slightly wanting, but not bad at all. All in all, it lasted 5 hours, with the last hour or so existing almost like a skin scent.

Short Truffle Hunt
Ocre Dore is light, fine, elusive, short-lived & clearly overshadowed by Noir De Mars yesterday. Therefore, today it was put to the test again with slightly less heavy competition (Rose Opera). Such a delicate truffle scent needs to be breathed in, explored, discovered, and requested.

Actually, the headline is misleading, because in my imagination & perception, Ocre Dore starts off with a fully bloomed truffle - even a bit musty & unpleasant. However, it is already more than hinted here that at its core it is a creamy patchouli scent. After the not-so-pleasant 50% top notes, the truffle slowly fades, transforming into a pleasantly fragrant, sweet powder that merges with the wearer's body, clinging closely to the skin. Many will hardly notice that they are wearing perfume & will be surprised at how good their cuddle partner's skin smells. Creamy, woody, delicious - consciously enjoying in the form of scent!

Bottle: I’m curious to see it live for the first time...
Sillage: it hardly gets more subdued, especially for a scent that is patchouli-heavy!
Longevity: one might underestimate it, as it is so gentle, close to the body & contemplative... But it will last 3-5 hours!

Conclusion: a beautiful second half that merges with the wearer like hardly any other perfume, making Ocre Dore a successful, worthwhile, slightly tipsy truffle hunt!

Ocre Doré is supposed to be a perfume centered around the scent of white truffle.

I now remember the smell of white truffle a bit differently from dining out, and I am very glad that I don't actually smell like the noble fungus tuber.

Ocre Doré is, in my opinion, an entirely earthy and calming perfume.

However, the pyramid of Ocre Doré does not really reveal itself to me.

I perceive the top note as somewhat berry-like and deliciously sweet before the golden earthy main theme of the fragrance unfolds. I cannot detect the green scent of galbanum, and I remember mate as having a rather herbal bitterness.

From the heart note onward, Ocre Doré hardly changes. Earthy warm notes are dominant. The woods remain completely in the background.

In the base, a honey-like sweetness joins the earthy notes, which I would like to attribute to labdanum.

Ocre Doré is a subtle perfume. The scent remains close to the body from the very beginning and is likely only perceivable by the person wearing it. On the skin, I can detect the fragrance for a good 8 hours.

All in all, this Scent on Canvas is also an interesting fragrance concept, and the color theme has been very well captured. However, the scent will not make it into my collection, as it is ultimately a bit too understated for my taste.

Sun-Drenched Ocher in Golden Late Summer
The second fragrance I tested from the "scent on canvas" series fits perfectly with the golden late summer we are currently experiencing, as its base character is a strong ocher, as rich as the sun-drenched, comfortably warm body that is not glowing from heat after a long afternoon spent doing nothing in the garden on a radiant late summer day.
The lightly tipsy base note of the fragrance, reminiscent of white truffle, evokes the summer parties where one has just danced, yet the woody and resinous notes remind us of the coming autumn. The labdanum gives the fragrance a slightly melancholic touch: yes, summer is coming to an end this year - but how sweet are these last beautiful summer days!
The artist Mariona Esteba has created a fitting oil painting for it, a vibrant, radiant wave of colors in various shades of yellow, reminiscent of the gradually changing leaves of the still green trees.
For me, "Ocre Doré" is much more wearable than the leather scent from the painter's studio "Brun Sicilien." Unfortunately, its sillage is weak, and it is as fleeting as this year's summer...

First association: The taste of cooked red beets. Pleasantly earthy, slightly powdery, but unfortunately really only very close to the skin.
