Sport? Yes, and in the way it was understood back then...
... and without highly synthetic grapefruit or other artificial citrus nonsense.
Spicy freshness, as natural as it can be. While the "Nike" was already a very likable and pleasant scent, this fragrance takes it a step further in terms of naturalness and extremely pleasant "non-obtrusiveness." "Sport Fragrance" is so well composed that its use is conceivable for various occasions: work, leisure, going out in summer, and - yes - also sports (although one might not immediately guess it without knowing its name...)
So this is how "citrusy-spicy freshness" was back then. Pleasantly understated yet with enough backbone and a statement that is quite self-assured but doesn't come off as showy. This scent has a "self-evident casualness" while always being aware of its qualities.
When considering what brands like Nike and (oh yes) Adidas used to bring to the market, and comparing it to today's offerings, one has to scratch their head. What can you do, another gem in my collection...
