It's 1996
It's 1996.
Soon I'll be 15.
I sit with my girlfriend on a bench, in some stuffy warm Berlin subway station.
Her name was Jessica.
We talk about all sorts of things.
About what you just talk so much in a still very young relationship.
We're getting closer.
She's lying in my lap.
Tell me about her dreams, her problem and her No - Future attitude.
I put one hand on her belly and rub her hair with the other.
Her perfume's going up my nose.
I don't know it, but it smells nice.
People walk by and look at us strangely as we lounge on the bench like that.
We don't care.
There is here and now only us, the bank, the scent.
Nobody would understand us.
I'm going to go through her hair again.
Again her perfume rises into my nose.
We talk about our common future.
Make plans.
Talk about travelling to Italy, Spain, Greece.
Dreaming of living somewhere free.
Just the two of us.

2019
Jessica's long gone.
Remained are the memories.
The good and the bad.
And your fragrance: Sculpture
I spray it into the air and sit again in the stuffy warm Berlin subway station.
Her name is Jessica.
It's 1996.

Come into my wigwam...
...gladly by men beyond the 50 sung coitus-forcers, who, equipped with tennis socks and men's sandals, fell asleep on the plastic couch on the radio after the Andrea Berg marathon.
Heinz Georg Kramm aka Heino, who in the song actually talks about his artificial hairpiece (Wig: English for wig) has actually managed to land his song in a video game (Castle Cat 4) in which heroic cats fight against evil (Oh dear). The rent has to be paid.
After all, the likeable bard from Düsseldorf has managed to survive so far, because in Africa albinos are hunted through the bush because of their alleged magical powers or have to appear as jurors in singing casting shows.
Reference to the scent? Zero.
The fragrance mercifully passed me by in the 90s, which are not insignificant in terms of perfume history, because you could actually associate it with carrot pants, shoulder pad saccos (Creoles on both ears) and cowboy boots, which were actually located in the 80s.
It is also worn by strong men, who at loud, brightly lit events (at which simple men and women shoot beer until they lose their senses) try to impress the dirndl wearing females, mainly as ship's swing accelerators.
The fragrance is certainly not for people who like uncompromisingly tart, dry and woody and who can't do anything with this sweet and slushy monotony anyway... in this respect a rating is unfair.
Sculpture is fresh, sweet, sticky, pleasing - so somehow trivial Surely ideal for beginners in the fragrance world. Each according to its own shape - with different marketing it could also be made for 15 year old girls who have pictures of horses on the wall of their children's room. Sorry.

The 90s once again
Sculpture Homme is unmistakably a child of the 90s. I just realize that the favorites of the colorful 90s have done it to me right now.
And why shouldn't I dedicate a few lines to this happy copy, too.
Because also this is a firm component of my (at that time still extremely clear) smell collection with me since its appearance.

And when I see here that over 700 perfumes have it in their possession, it speaks for itself. I am very pleased to be one of those over 700. Much has already been said. Loved by many, loved less by others.

Each fragrance has its own story and everyone who wears it interprets something of its own into it and develops it further.
The story Sculpture Homme tells me is that of summer, warmth, happiness.
Right from the moment I spray on the product, the citrus content makes for a good mood and orange blossom is added, a fragrance component that I like very much, as I do own some fragrances that contain orange blossom.

Flowery aspects, all too obvious, are always somewhat difficult with men's fragrances. But you started taking a chance in the'90s. Why shouldn't men be able to smell a little more floral for a change? Before it was usually rather spicy-woody, then it became aquatic and at some point also flowery-sweet, until later the gourmand fragrances prevailed.
Here I find it successful, the flowery components get along very well with the citrus parts.
The overall fragrance remains quite sweet, almost striking. But that's what we wanted and in 1995 another fragrance classic appeared, which is also very sweet. You know the one I mean..... And the sweetness does not kill also immediately, there are still completely different calibers, above all newer fragrance creations.

Sculpture remains all the time on a cheerful, friendly and sunny level, he makes you want to spend your free time in the sun, on holiday, on beach and sea, on delicious cocktails garnished with paper umbrellas and fruit. And perhaps music by La Bouche, who had their greatest successes at the time, were just as cheerful and cheerful and had produced so many a catchy tune. Do I actually still like to hear from time to time.

Sculpture does very well in his spare time, he is also suitable for going out in the evening, I also wore him to work today, that is also wonderful.
Unfortunately, he has also suffered from the reformulation madness (deformation is better), like so many beautiful scents. The durability was once better, now he runs out of breath after a few hours.
The bottle is also a story in itself. Nice to look at but not exactly the stable.
And it's a pity he's so sold out. This may be pleasant for the purse, but it doesn't really do the fragrance justice.

The '90s just called...
...and want the large capacity discos back.

Honestly? What a time-traveling smell! For the first time I just sniffed the spray head and was immediately at the end of the 90s, around the time I finished school, Saturdays in the KuFa in Saarbrücken or in the A65 in Kandel. The woofers distributed the sound of Westbam with pressure on the dance floors. The cargo pants (without a leg pocket you were a loser) were held by fabric belts with exchangeable buckles (mostly from Carhartt or Burton), the thin leather strap around the neck (either with a mini wooden surfboard or a small shell) was tight around the neck, the blonded tips (because of offspring, not because of HP) were obligatory
The bottle of Deperado cost about 3 DM, Vodka Red Bull was also drunk warm and we had the nights of our lives I never had such a flashback with Nightflight. But I didn't own any sculptures at that time. But this fragrance, or family of fragrances, represents for me everything that was good then.

After the very fresh, almost sharp start, Sculpture quickly becomes a little weaker and a little sweeter. It reminds me of a bowl of Skittles. Which I don't mean negatively. Smells really... uh, great! Afterwards the amber really hits me and the scent becomes pleasantly warm. The sillage remains within acceptable limits. But with this price, frequent re-spraying is not a problem. Wait, I should use the subjunctive here. So frequent re-spraying would not be a problem if I sprayed it on. Sculpture is the trigger to my youth, but today I don't want it on me anymore. Nevertheless, the exchange bottle is kept to sink back into the old times every now and then it was nice! :-)

Thanks for reading

The King of Mallorca
As a nerdy Parfumo I have put together for my first holiday in two years various bottlings. Hardly arrived in Mallorca I had to realize that I forgot the bag with the fillings at home.
Instead of California Dreaming with Sunshine at the Afternoon Swim and chill in the Beach Hut, my first day of vacation led me back to the 90s, in a local perfumery.

The deeper you get into it, the more disappointing visits to duty free and holiday perfumeries become.

While I was looking for "Scandal pour Homme", there was not even "Le Male - Le Parfum" on site. Since it's better not to leave too much money in stores where "Sauvage" and "Good Girl" are the latest trends and top picks, my selection was limited to the "Back to the 90s" shelf with "Jill Sander Sun", "Cool Water" and the now finally introduced "Sculpture" by Nikos after a long introduction.

100ml for €16.99, which is not a top offer but completely justifiable. From the first spray, memories of family holidays in the 90s come flooding back. "Sculpture" was smelled at every corner back then. The fragrance was the king of Mallorca. At that time, however, I never bought it, but always opted for the fragrance twin "Minotaure" by Paloma Picasso, because I found the flacon a lot cooler.

The fresh opening with tangerine, orange blossom and lemon combined with lily of the valley and bergamot makes the fragrance an absolute all-rounder in the summer. With hardly any other perfume fits the saying "more helps more" better, because you should be generous when spraying. Even with ten sprays, which initially tingle refreshingly on the skin, there is not much left after an hour.

The good-sounding drydown with amber, benzoin, tonka bean, and cedar is over faster than you can smell it, but that's perfectly fine for the price.

Whether "Sculpture" now belongs in every collection, others should judge. But one thing is certain, that you get here for little money a ticket back to the 90s, and a very pleasing, everyday fragrance receives.

And let's face it... even Xerjoff knows the hits of the 90s: "Uden" is a very well-made high-end version of "Sculpture" meets "Minotaure" and probably so popular precisely because of the memories of the good old days. ?♂️

A decent and yet weird combination of sweet florals, coumarin and cheap amber. The quality is decent and the price is excellent. 3/5
