A Beautiful and Spicy Chypre

With the "Niki de Saint Phalle (Eau Défendue) | Niki de Saint Phalle," I have once again found a truly beautiful gem for my vintage miniature collection. I really like the scent. While the sillage, especially at the beginning, gives hope for a nice performance, the longevity unfortunately ends after about 6 hours on my skin.

The top note initially starts quite green, herbal, and citrusy with aromas of Artemisia, mint, anise, and bergamot. Then, spicy-oriental notes of cloves, nutmeg, allspice, and star anise sneak in. The heart note offers a soapy sea of flowers consisting of garden cloves, geraniums, gardenias, jasmine blossoms, lily of the valley, daffodils, ylang-ylang, and rose water. The base smells of sandalwood, oak moss, vetiver, patchouli, cedarwood, and leather.

It's a pity that the Niki de Saint Phalle Eau Défendue doesn't last longer. Therefore, I will pass on my miniature.

A "number" of its own.

As brittle as it may seem, the bitter herbs bring a lot of liquid, green light! The mint peeks out cheekily, sometimes hiding to let the citrus fruits take the lead. Then it pops up again like little rascals chattering in between.
All the spicy flowers are at a loss with this. Especially since delicate powder occasionally wafts through. Alternating with down-to-earth "earth notes," sometimes quite stubborn, but definitely good-natured. It’s not enough to simply describe the scent as "beautiful." It’s an ambivalent puzzle that knows how to "tease" the nose! If I may put it casually:
This "forbidden water" is a number of its own. It plays hide and seek with the sense of smell or "cat and mouse"!
Even in the so-called base, Niki de Saint Phalle shows what she has in her luggage. What a wanderer's backpack is to him, this scent's almost boisterous resinousness is to it. It carries it around everywhere without becoming too heavy. And when it takes a short break, it delights in all the flowers, herbs, and trees around it. Then it happily and willingly moves on. A long, sometimes slightly bumpy path that not everyone takes.
This wonderful scent is refreshingly "different"......
