Il Capriccio del Maestro Nobile 1942 2018

Cinnamon in winter, cold and clear,
warms the hearts, that is true.
At the punch market, the scent of mulled wine,
cinnamon, the wintry scent.

When you apply the fragrance for the first time, you think: hmm, I know this from somewhere? How true, how true.
The opening begins with an unmistakable cinnamon note followed by a rum note. The rum note gives it, in my opinion, a masculine touch and brings with it a certain something despite its pronounced sweetness. It lends the fragrance - for me - a certain coolness and conveys a darker, more muted impression. After a while, the dominance of the cinnamon fades away and the rum only lingers a bit. Now the vanilla aroma comes to the forefront, accompanied by the remaining cinnamon notes. With the farewell of the evening, the scent dissipates, gentle and warming, like a soft goodbye. It does not depart abruptly but weaves itself carefully into the atmosphere, like a poetic conclusion. A farewell greeting that envelops the senses and preserves the magic of the moment just a little longer.
For me, an absolute favorite and in my top 5 of winter fragrances that I have enjoyed to date.
