6Scent 5Longevity

Odin or Wotan...

...is the highest god of Germanic-Nordic mythology. He displaced the original sky father Tyr from his position. Odin belongs to the race of gods known as the Aesir, who reside in Asgard. The divine Asgard, which is located in the crown of the world tree Yggdrasil.

Odin New York can therefore expect that - at least we Europeans - will have quite high expectations of this brand. At least I do. So it is essential to meet these expectations.

The very dark color of the liquid leads me to suspect a heavy, sweet fragrance. So I spray the scent onto my hand with anticipation.

The opening is fresh, slightly peppery, and mildly spicy, although I cannot perceive any fruitiness. This top note does not last very long; after just a few minutes, the transition to the heart note occurs.

Here, it is primarily heliotrope that defines the scent direction. Iris provides a very light powderiness, which can only be perceived directly on the skin, while the violet leaf completely removes the sweetness. What remains is a gentle, unsweetened heliotrope note that strikes me as somewhat unusual.

Overall, the scent is very close to the skin, which means the sillage is virtually nonexistent. The longevity is also not really good, although a faint scent can be detected on the skin for a few hours.

The base emerges, in my opinion, very early and already integrates itself into the heart note. As a result, a slight earthiness can be perceived in the heliotrope scent note. Thus, the fragrance fades away.

My conclusion: pretentious brand name, expectations not met. I do not know the price of the fragrance, but even at a low price, I would not buy it, as my expectations differ from what the scent offers. Its volatility also does not match the appearance and the expectations that arose from it. What a pity.

Doesn't sound like a "must-have"!
