Selfie to delete right away;-)!
Well, I didn't find the name as silly as many here, after all, it's the content that matters to me! As a former photo studio, it fits quite well, especially since a great photo is always included in the packaging.
Olfactive Studio always has a bonus with their stylish scents; with Lumiere Blanche, they made themselves "immortal" in my eyes, Chambre Noire - great but a bit overdone after 1 1/4 bottles, Still Life - delicious rum, somewhat reminiscent of Navegar by L'Artisan, it didn't annoy me much over time, Flashback - innovative fresh perfume with wonderful and unusual rhubarb, Autoportrait - great facet of Carbone de Balmain, Indigo - strange scent, the color was the best part of the fragrance... and now Selfie...
Selfie and Indigo will probably never be friends of mine; I would even place Selfie below Indigo, and it now occupies the last place in my OF ranking. Basically, the scent is over before it even really starts. Exotic floral and blossom notes are perceived first, slightly sharp and piercing with an oriental touch, slightly alcoholic... like an intensely fragrant flower floating on Ouzo. One could probably get used to that, but half of the fragrance consists of curry, which I found quite amusing as a scent experiment in "Arabie" by Serge Lutens, but here it smells very alien, not the curry from the kitchen as one knows it or from the snack bar. It's as if a part of the spice mixture was removed and replaced with clove, flowers, and unsweetened cinnamon. It doesn't feel rounded, and thus I can't connect with the scent, neither on the side of comfort where the fragrance flatters or beautifully envelops, nor on the side of amazement where a "theme" has been authentically implemented, not even on the side of disguising, where a scent smells great and has a good effect on others, but one doesn't really like it and it doesn't suit them... I can't categorize it... but even with a detached evaluation, I feel nothing pleasant about the scent... on the contrary!
Curry fades a bit over time, after about 2-3 hours, earthy tones come through, but even there it's a mishmash of scent notes that I can't appreciate. Somehow resinous and scratchy, there's always a note that disturbs, for me it's in the category of spacey-oriental, but no phase of the fragrance fits for me; sometimes it's okay if the top note, for example, isn't that great, but the scent develops wonderfully (I even prefer it that way), but here I can hope, endure, pray, curse, wish... it doesn't help... end, done... over.
The longevity is, as often with "nasty scents," top-notch, 7-8 hours with ease, the sillage should be quite decent, but I didn't want to expose anyone to this scent yesterday/today... so it's just a guess; on my wrist, it certainly lingered for hours... and that biting, sharp... unappetizing!
I'm really curious who actually likes this scent! So... and just out of spite and frustration, as a counter-reaction, I've decided to get the big Lumiere Blanche bucket back into the collection, as that will forever remain unmatched!
