A Hint of Shalimar?
First of all, I unfortunately haven't had the chance to smell Shalimar yet. It seems to be unavailable anywhere, at least not in the usual drugstores. Fair enough, we are dealing with a queen of fragrances here.
By chance, I stumbled upon this dupe. After some positive reviews, I decided to place an order. What some have complained about is that the bottle was leaking and the packaging was a bit damp. The whole thing seems to be very cheaply made.
Upon spraying, it is noticeable that the alcohol note, which cheaper perfumes often have at the beginning, is still tolerable. After that, a wonderful, soft, vanilla creamy scent emerges that pairs perfectly with my skin. It is oriental, warm, and it feels familiar to me, so I must have smelled Shalimar on someone before. After 5 minutes, the nightly journey on the flying velvet carpet over the vanilla desert unfortunately comes to an end.
In short: Nice bottle, but cheaply made. Lovely scent, but the longevity is barely existent. Omerta, please work on this, then it can cost a bit more.
But if this cheapie leads me to the original, why not? Then my search for my signature scent will come to an end, and it will become a timeless classic!
