Unexpected Encounter

At first, it was spring. The hawthorn blooms and releases herbal-sweet scents.
Alpine violets bloom again or still and carry their characteristic odor.
Lilacs open their buds with their enchanting aroma.
Then comes summer. Scented geraniums and grasses release their warm fragrances.
Until finally, autumn unfolds its woody-earthy notes.
Usually, this happens with a larger transition.
It is not suddenly summer or autumn, at least not normally. And certainly, these three seasons do not coexist at the same time. At least not as a rule.
But there is a fragrance that can do this. "Opale".
It bears the name of a semi-precious stone and can somehow "magically" evoke.
By calling to mind spring, summer, and autumn almost simultaneously.
And thus creates classic confusion. The brain cannot initially comprehend what the nose smells.
Then the brain wants to explain what the nose cannot, simply by smelling it.
But the brain struggles to explain it, only enjoying what the nose tells it.
An unexpected encounter.
Once grasped, I must conclude: an unusual, unexpectedly good scent...

Apparently a wonderful scent and: three in one go.

You described it so beautifully, but opal is a gemstone! And what a gemstone it is! There are only precious stones and semi-precious stones. Half precious stones? "Semi-precious" is such a typically German derogatory term.
