Fruity, fresh, transparent
Like most people, I wasn't expecting a great deal from Original Penguin, but this was a pleasant surprise. It's basically a sweet, violet rosemary scent with a little minty lime on top. The overall feel is extremely fresh and invigorating from the start, and I honestly prefer this over Nautica Voyage, if you can believe it. It's completely linear with no development, and the longevity is on par for a freshie.
I have absolutely no idea what driftwood smells like, but there's definitely no vetiver here. The backbone comes from the density of sweetness that envelops the composition, so don't expect any woods. In fact, if frosted glass had a smell, this would be it. Absolutely love that bottle, and for the price, this is a superbly safe beginner's freshie. Rock on, OP.
