Do you know those daily, hardly explainable, very personal connections, d茅j脿 vus or "coincidences" too? It doesn't happen every day; on some days, I might not pay enough attention. Or they simply don't occur every day. Or it's just a figment of my imagination. Nevertheless: these little connections and winks of fate, when life shows you: listen, everything is fine, it all fits together. Everything is connected. Or at least everything is as it should be. Negatives as well as positives.
When you talk to a buddy about your favorite movie in the morning and it suddenly airs on TV that evening? When you see a meme on Facebook and that exact scene appears two hours later in the episode of the series you are currently watching? When you think of strawberries for no reason in the morning and then your wife surprises you with a strawberry sundae in the evening? When you hear a song about Egypt on the radio and later that day there is an attack there? When you drive past a workshop, knock on wood because your car has been running smoothly for so long, and twenty kilometers later a tire bursts? When you see an ad for Mexican tequila on the tram and later in the day your colleagues surprise you with tequila as a farewell drink? Or like today: when you come from your grandpa's funeral, who used to pick currants from the garden for you as a child and mash them in a pot with milk - and then you reach into your sample box at home and test "Byzance"...
It may all be imagination, but it always brings me a good yet mysterious feeling and a smile. And "Byzance" of course in a very sad yet beautiful sense. A farewell greeting. Everything will be fine. Think of the good times. I will be there. May the currant be with you. Or something like that ;). In any case, "Byzance" by Ormonde Jayne is an exceptional perfume. Even without any sentimentalities and invisible strings of our world. "Tuscan Leather" with a currant heart. "Baccarat Rouge" in fruity and rosy. But still, especially due to its deep brown leather, anything but girly. Simply heavenly, milky, and delicious. Sinful, straight, never cloying or sour. That's often the quick downfall with milky scents. Not here. "Byzance" has an aura, has numerous unique features, has charisma and character. And my grandpa would have surely liked it.
Bottle: quite pleasing to the eye
Sillage: quite assertive due to its leathery facets
Longevity: 7 hours, the base has staying power
Conclusion: one of the most unusual, deepest, and most beautiful little fruits on the market. Or one of the most playful and feminine leather fragrances. However you want to see it. In any case: warm regards from Grandpa!
Really enjoyed reading this.. When perfumes evoke strong emotions, and that's exactly the case here, you can't really ask for more. It probably wouldn't be for me, but I enjoyed your review!
Goosebumps... That's exactly what it's all about, that's exactly what I look for in fragrances. Exactly that. Much love to you. Consider yourself warmly hugged by me.
