Megamare Orto Parisi 2019

After my experience with Megamare today, I felt I had to write something about it. By chance, I stumbled upon the fragrances from Orto Parisi. While browsing the Souk in the evening, I noticed an offer from Seminalis. It was some leftover from a sharing. The reviews weren't that great, but it was worth a test. A few days later, the sample arrived and I was hooked. Why such a bad review (Well, not that bad ;-) ). Anyway, I then found a sample of Megamare in the Souk. It was only about 4ml, but whatever. During the first test, there was this wow moment. In my 2.5 years at Parfumo, I've probably tested a few hundred fragrances, and only rarely did I experience that “Wow.” Since there is no fragrance pyramid and my nose isn't fine enough to decipher a scent, I would definitely agree with the description “salty Aquat.” Well, even though I only took one spray, the rest of my family immediately commented on it as soon as it wafted down to the living room. However, not in the hoped-for way of “Oh, you smell great, what fragrance is that? I like it!” but rather in the style of “Wow, what’s that smell? Is that you? Intense!” It was, as I said, just one spray ;-)! Throughout the evening, the general rejection turned into a “Yeah, now it's quite bearable. It's okay.” Anyway, shortly after, the bottle moved in with me. By the way, I find the bottle and the entire packaging quite successful. A good dosage has turned out to be one spray towards the neck with an outstretched arm. Yes, it sounds kind of crazy. It doesn’t really matter how you spray the stuff on. I somehow convince myself that the spray mist distributes better that way ;-)
Now, let’s talk about today’s experience. Due to the weather situation, today’s carnival parade was canceled, and I went with my family to a relatively spontaneous, small celebration. Since the costume smelled a bit like it had been in the closet for a year, I treated myself to 2 sprays today. What can I say - the whole room smelled like me. I was just glad the door to the outside was open the whole time. Not that you misunderstand me, I think the scent is great and I enjoy it very much. But that was somehow too much attention. Therefore, whatever you do, never more than one spray!!!
I believe that most “perfume muggles” (is that how you say it? - laugh) probably won’t like this scent because it’s too extreme, or is perceived as too extreme. I don’t find it extreme as a fragrance at all. Sure, extraordinary, but not extreme.
You just have to be careful with the dosage. From my bottle, I will probably decant about 30ml for the Souk. The remaining 20ml will last for years with twice-weekly use.
So, if you’re looking for something extraordinary, you should definitely consider giving it a test. Some love it, others ...
