Strawberryfields forever

This afternoon, the thermometer shows 35 degrees in the shade, my sister calls and asks: I still have vouchers for the strawberry field, do you want to come?
Of course I do. So out of the cool house and onto the bike. I grab a bucket and make a quick stop at the cemetery to water the plants. I always enjoy being there, the tranquility and yes, there are still real planted graves, it's pleasant. My bare legs in flip-flops appreciate a cool shower from the watering can.
Onward to the strawberry field, a little dirt path, just follow the scent. Are there still people who go to strawberry fields? In times of discount stores and delivery apps and who knows what else.
So, finally something about the scent.
I can already hear the outcry, you can't do that in summer!!!
You can. I’m a summer person, I always make the best of everything.
The man at the ticket booth says: today, it's only for the tough ones. As we know, only the tough ones go into the garden.
This attar, it’s an oil, has a fruity, woody, strong presence, patchouli, which I love so much. It reminds me of an Indian shop from my youth. It has nothing synthetic for me; in summer, I much prefer simple, naturally appealing scents. This one definitely belongs to that category. I can't quite place the mint.

Applying it with the roller allows for a fine dosage. Its longevity is enormous.
Today, Attar al Makkah accompanies me while eating and picking strawberries in the finest way. The warm berries melt in my mouth. The hot wind tells of summer and also of transience, of dazzling days in the shimmering sunlight. I bike home and feel grateful to be alive.

“Do you still hear the symphony of life?”

It is summer.
