Pacific Perfumes is a small New Zealand two-women company founded in 2002 by Kate Jason Smith and Francesca Brice. Their scents are, according to their own statement, inspired by the beauty and essences from Aotearoa and the South Pacific:

Their range offers beautiful and diverse scent journeys and includes solid perfumes, perfume oil roll-ons (significantly stronger sillage), soaps, hair and body oil. They pay attention to natural ingredients, sustainability, and animal welfare.

Aloha Bahiana and Laura!

My Pacific Perfumes have traveled a long way to reach me: They come from the land of hobbits, green valleys, kiwis, and Maoris -- New Zealand. And they are solids in very pretty, eco-friendly wooden tins.

I can smell it immediately as soon as I open the tin: This is a scent twin of Bahiana and Laura, which I love so much! It's strange, though, because according to the fragrance pyramids, Aloha is not that similar to them. But Aloha also has this cheerful wood-citrus mix that I just can't get enough of. A pomegranate note completely eludes me, but I'm also not quite sure what it should smell like; real pomegranate smells like sweet citrus fruit to me. Well, THAT could be hiding somewhere in the top notes. It's probably thanks to the bergamot that the citrus note doesn't smell sour or biting, and the woods underneath are light and fluffy, evoking images of a forest walk on a warm summer afternoon. But somehow also a delicious caipirinha on a sultry summer evening ;-)

I love this scent. The only complaint I have is the low sillage and rather poor longevity. It seems to be the fate of solid perfumes, which is a shame for me as a fan of scents with very strong sillage. Solid perfumes also generally seem to have no significant scent development, which doesn't have to be a bad thing. Due to the weak sillage and longevity, there are deductions in this category. But the scent itself is a dream for me.
