London Queens Club

At last. Apparently it had to take more than 35 years for this masterpiece to come back into my possession. And at a relatively affordable price.
Of course, it brings back memories, not just a few, and associations (as with all fragrances that you revisit after years of abstinence).
In addition, there are of course very high expectations coupled with the changes in the fragrance over the years. But after deducting the cons and balancing out the personal plus points, there was still no disappointment. Quite the opposite. I was rewarded with an extraordinary fragrance experience that triggered a great head cinema.
Sport de Paco Rabanne or Paco Rabanne Eau de Sport is a sports fragrance, but not as we know it today or as it is understood today. A fragrance for the gentleman sportsman from days not so long ago. It reminds me a lot of Jean Patou Lacoste, although this one is 18 years older. And here we already have a change of scene:
London, 1988
Queens Club
The Stella Artois Championships
Singles, Semifinals
Guy Forget, French gentleman player, serves. Serve and volley to perfection. Bergamot and citrus notes skillfully waft around his body and even reach ball boys and linesmen. He prances light-footedly across the grass and reaches the tie break after forty minutes, which he unfortunately loses after a tough battle. In the second set, he is still dancing in swathes of green and soapy notes and still moves elegantly, but after an hour and twenty-five minutes, his dream of the grand final is shattered. His opponent stands at the net waiting for the handshake. Even before Guy reaches the net, he notices a masculine scent of oakmoss and vetiver and wonders how you can still smell so good after such a tough match. The opponent was Stefan Edberg.

BB won the final on Sunday.
