Always on the lookout for something new, I ordered some samples of leather fragrances, as my favorite perfume also has a leathery note.
In my curiosity frenzy, I naturally sprayed 5 different perfumes on all possible spots, and this one particularly fascinated me. So the next morning, I sprayed it on my neck. Somehow, I must have brushed the collar of my shirt while spraying, because my partner was quite taken with this scent the next evening. (Yes, I don’t change my shirt every day, and that’s a note on longevity!)
Encouraged by her enthusiasm, CC is now undergoing a closer examination together with my beloved.
"Oh my God, that stinks terribly!" was her first comment after the spray made contact with her skin. And I can’t really disagree with her. Although, yesterday she was still quite enamored with the fleeting scent that lingered. Does it smell infinitely good, or does it just barely skirt around tolerable animality? Do I love the scent or do I detest it?
In the meantime, I have calmly formed my judgment. This is certainly not a fragrance that one simply says smells good and gifts to their boss for their birthday. And that’s a good thing, because the scent is an absolute masterpiece! A bold masterpiece! And as is the case with masterpieces, there are also dissonances and complexities, not just pure, unadulterated beauty.
The scent comes with an insane, sweat-dripping fattiness that almost makes one dizzy. It’s not the flowers and the freshness of a mandarin that define the opening, but rather lush saffron and animalistic leather. Passionate and wild. Instead of getting ready for the day, one wishes to return to bed for another passionate hour with their beloved. It takes a few minutes for the full splendor to unfold. The iris and rose then shine so clearly, blue and pure, that it sends shivers down my spine. It’s this weaving between the animalistic scents and the clear purity and elegance on the other side that makes this perfume so unique and interesting for me. This quality remains present for a long time in the scent's development. Although it becomes calmer over time and the scent becomes less animalistic, it remains complex.
The longevity is excellent! On clothing, it lasts almost indefinitely.
The sillage is not just powerful; no, it is something very special for me. From a distance, the beautiful woman I’m courting catches a delicate, flattering clear floral accord. When she approaches me, she realizes that I have much more to offer than just a fresh bouquet of flowers. A little later, as she gets even closer, she starts to feel quite hot; we have a good conversation and draw nearer to each other. Finally, with the first skin contact with her beautiful nose, she thinks of only one thing: sex!
It is precisely through this sophisticated sillage that Cuir Cavalier is well-balanced and absolutely suitable for everyday wear. A fragrance that radiates luxurious elegance and therefore is likely more suited to elegant clothing, at least a nice shirt and elegant shoes with jeans.
I can recommend this scent to everyone. Not just to those who like leather fragrances, as it offers much more than just leather. Just don’t have anything against saffron!
