The epitome of mediocrity
Unfortunately, the title sums it up quite well. The hype surrounding this release was probably not lost on anyone here, and as an avowed gourmand enthusiast, I absolutely had to test it. I know almost all of the other fragrances from the house and therefore knew that they could do something.
Well now. I am sure that many people will like the fragrance and that it will not offend in many places.
Why is that? Because unfortunately there is nothing exciting to be found. At the end of the day, you're left with a relatively clumsy, one-dimensional chocolate. No nice twist, no unpredictability, no little wink. I really expected more - gourmands can be so beautifully complex, with depth. Unfortunately, this one doesn't. I get what it says on the tin. Boring to yawn and solid as a wall, as the fragrance comes up with the typical Marly durability and sillage.
And a word about the bottle? Just as boring, simply copied the others and used a new color. A terrible color that reminds me of certain other things that I don't really want to associate with a perfume. Completely overrated for me and definitely not a candidate for repurchase. Too bad, I was looking forward to a chic gourmand.
