Celery in a Bottle

A strange blast of celery-like scent
comes into presence the ivy is responsible for that veggie scent
the bergamot is ok vetiver makes it too pungent the ceder makes it dry
this reminds me of celery soup.
the plus side is i love the box it has a hip urban feel edgy in fact but that wont save from being like by me.

Quiet Confessions

Ok, I just wanted to know how he smells, the Paule, and what he actually smells like, the TVC15, and now I know, and both are already worth a little story.

Despite significant reservations, I hereby retract my previously slightly negative comments regarding TVC15's scent profile. Sometimes, prejudices are simply there, for example when one suspects that after a citrus top note of a chypre fragrance, not much more can develop, except perhaps the top note again.

Admittedly, you really have to take a good sniff, and maybe one or another preface on the topic of 'Bottomless Freshness' will persuade me; this is a great citrus EdT.

Even though I still assume that the test subject in his series is simply not making progress because he is going alphabetically, starting with bergamot, but then prefers to approach the many different scent worlds in their ingredients in reverse. Lemon, vetiver...

Dear TVC15, there are about 3000 more raw materials in this world,
so step on it! ;)

Eau Sauvage from the Bargain Bin

Probably one of the fragrances with the worst ratings on the entire internet. Just for fun, go to fragrantica.com and read what the snobby crowd has to say. The general misunderstanding or even aggressive rejection of the scent shows how radical this actually quite simple composition is. Or should I rather say: "was," because "Story" can now be found suspiciously often at a bargain price, but suspiciously little on the Paul Smith website, to be precise: not at all. Discontinued?

What a shame, because "Story" is a wonderfully rough, imperfect vetiver scent, about as minimalist as the brittle typewriter font that adorns the unusual bottle (a glass book). The base note is quite common, namely the fresh citrus breeze. But not as stuffy as any other sporty middle-class fragrance.

The successful and knighted British designer Paul Smith actually wanted to pay tribute to his fascination with books - from valuable antiques to freshly printed ones - but I can't detect too much academic or even the mustiness of centuries from old libraries here. Imagine "Story" as a kind of failed black-and-white copy of "L'Eau D'Issey," which has lost its niceness. This scent is not balanced, offers no refined transitions or harmonious accords, nothing finely nuanced - more of a punk than a literate. For this, Nathalie Gracia-Cetto used a highly spartan cologne structure from the citrus top to the wood finish with a hefty dose of vetiver, with a few flowers in between that serve merely decorative purposes.

What makes the incredibly fresh "Story" so interesting is another reduction, as not even a traditional lemon appears here, only a much more bitter grapefruit, which stands magnificently alongside my little favorite, bergamot. The classic Levi's double stitch. But wait, what else do we have here? Ivy. A brilliant idea for anyone who has always found a pomelo too gourmand :) Great, now you definitely can't eat this anymore. The "1 Million" and "A-Men" fans of this world should be done for now. Awesome! A magnificent scent, quality seal "absolutely vanilla-free." Another plus: no synthetics, at least none that I noticed unpleasantly.

"Story" is, of course, a short story. It has no beginning and no end, and you can easily count the typewriter strokes. A guiltless pleasure without any disgusting residues. Those who don't hate it (like me and two others) just keep spraying; with 100 ml for under 30 euros, one can afford to be generous.
