Cuddling with Victoire d'Ambre & Teddy Bear under a Blanket

The title says it all, in my opinion. And no, I am of course already an adult and not heading directly into a midlife crisis. Rather, I have a teddy bear that I like to cuddle with from time to time and enjoy tucking him under the blanket, making me feel even warmer around the ears :D

Victoire d'Ambre is a very warm, cozy cuddle scent that is very close to the skin.
Trust and security are conveyed to the wearer. You feel warm, carefree, and lovingly wrapped up.
A deep warmth that carries a golden and resinous core, brightening the approaching silence and darkness of winter, so that even the inner values receive plenty of sunshine.

The fragrance starts off slightly vanilla-like, immediately underscored by a gentle powdery note that slowly disperses in the air in all directions. Delicate hints of resin that gradually become deeper and stronger over time. Slightly crackly at the edges, with musk in the background. It doesn't come off too sweet, and I find it to be a very successful oriental scent, especially regarding the price-performance ratio. It doesn't take many leaps, and you don't have to study it for too long to understand it. The scent is packed with powdery warmth, with musk that blends in very well, without any animalistic bickering lurking in the background. Slightly spicy, with a delicate layer of vanilla that only solidifies over time. Mind you, it's not a shrill and strong vanilla. It's more of a gentle note that I really like. The resinous quality increases over time, and I feel very well wrapped up. Powder is metaphorically lifted into the air by a delicate hand from the old table. A small gesture, a little hand movement, that seems so elegant, making one think it’s time for a grand oriental show.

But that's not the case. Victoire d'Ambre remains restrained and loyal to the wearer. It engages with him and not with the surroundings. It is only there for him and gives him an incentive to cuddle. Everywhere, pink powder puffs are scattered, settling contentedly on the already warmed skin. Creamy nuances linger inside, making everything appear pink and beige. Warm tones, for the warming of body and soul.

The longevity is really not bad (upper mid-range), while the sillage is noticeably more subdued. The warmth glides through the room for a long time, making the tea taste even better, and you are absorbed in cozy thoughts. That's how I imagine the next few days.

When it’s already dark outside and I step out of the hot shower, I take my teddy bear, spritz the resinous juice of Victoire d'Ambre on myself and him, and snuggle into the fluffiest blanket I have. Pulling the blanket up to my ears for a few moments until I feel that the space created under the blanket surrounds only me and the teddy bear. And then enjoy a hot cup of tea, watching the snowflakes outside as they gently fall... Oh yes, that is a feeling that warmly envelops my heart. Victoire d'Ambre is extraordinarily well-suited for that.

As for the bottle, it really seems very solidly made, and I like the caps from Rituals anyway. The packaging is very appealing, I must say, and the price is absolutely not inflated, as you would hardly smell it out of the warm, golden, and resinous elite that costs significantly more.

The most beautiful amber since there have been Christmas editions!
This pleasant little fragrance is unmistakably composed by Rituals. I love Rituals anyway, most of their products absolutely appeal to me, and so far I have also acquired several miniatures of their fine waters.

With this limited winter edition, however, I had to indulge on a larger scale! Unmistakably beautiful, soft, fluffy, warm, and cozy, "Victoire d'Ambre" presents itself. At the first spray, my second favorite from Rituals immediately came to mind: "Elixir d'Orient"! The two share some notes, such as the slightly smoky-pencil-like scent with a beautifully sweet-woody base. Only this one is a bit smokier and yet more pleasing. What distinguishes them is definitely the amber, which makes the Victoire much more cuddly and agreeable. The Elixir, on the other hand, has a more robust oriental note and just a touch more sweetness. That's why another great amber scent immediately came to mind: "Jade". In my opinion, the Victoire is a blend of these two treasures.

But no matter how you look at it, this fragrance simply gives me an absolute sense of well-being and satisfaction. Perfect for days like today, when it's icy outside and I have been completely distracted and overtired since I woke up. That's exactly when Victoire d'Ambre completely embraces me, wraps me in its beautiful velvet blanket, and soothes my mind. I feel like I'm in a calming massage room, immersed in the finest oils of this world.

I think this fragrance could also compete among the high-priced rivals, as it smells absolutely luxurious! The longevity is good for me at about 6 hours, and on clothing, it is even perceptible for several days. The sillage is just right, so I catch whiffs of it repeatedly, and it can bring me back down. That's exactly how I like it! Not too much and not too little.
The bottle is kept simple and, with its wooden cap and golden color, fits the fragrance very well. A total work of art that one should actually hoard!

Velvety Caresses
Anyone who has consciously felt velvet, truly brushed their fingertips over it, knows what I mean. The fine pile feels smooth when stroked in the direction of the fibers, and it really "tickles" under the fingers when you move back and forth, and when you just "brush against the grain," you can feel the fine but strong resistance of the pile hairs.
This fragrance gives me a similar sensory experience. The vanilla note, which is clearly detectable at the beginning, remains throughout the entire journey. It is the velvet as a whole. Soft, delicate, and fine (herb). As for the "tickling," I believe the interplay between resins, vanilla, and amber is to blame. A wonderful, subtle oscillation of the fragrance notes that is good for the nose and the soul.
The fine "scratchy" sensation against the grain comes from some spices that have been skillfully woven together. And just as fingers glide consciously over velvet fabric, almost feeling into it, I can olfactorily dive into "Victoire d' Ambre," capturing and enjoying it in all its "dimensions." What remains until the end is a fine, almost tactile pleasure.
It smells just like velvet feels... all wrapped in warm reddish-brown and honey hues.

Why do the best always go?
Ah Rituals...
You wonderful, little oasis of everyday life...
You surprisingly fragrant niche in the once overcrowded pedestrian zone...
Why do you always take the best out of the program?

The Victoire d´Ambre was a blind purchase back then, a steal because it was on sale.
I liked the golden bottle with the beautiful wooden cap and just wanted something nice on a bad day. I had only tested the scent on a strip, not even on my skin.

Then I added it to my collection at home, wore it once and then... forgot about it.
Until a few weeks ago, it was mid-December, gray, wet, cold, and generally terrible when I saw it sparkle again.
And as if I were a magpie, I couldn't resist the golden shimmer.
There it stood, the rectangular, shiny bottle with the simple lettering and the dark wooden cap.
This was quickly removed, and with a motivated sprayer, a proper cloud enveloped me completely.

Wow. I had not perceived, appreciated, yes, revered what this scent can do back then!
The pyramid here pretends to be a purely resinous woody scent. But the layers are so much deeper, more harmonious, more far-reaching. Besides the resin and amber, the musk, I smell a gentle hint of bergamot, a bit of pepper, incense, wood, and vanilla. This scent is a little work of art in itself. It is warm, soft, familiar, sweet without being cloying, heavy without being burdensome.
Like a therapy blanket of scent, like a massage for the senses. The fragrance does not remind me of perfume; it reminds me of spas, infusions, oils, and well-being for body and soul.
The warmth is like no other; it has something of a fireplace evening without the smoke.
I currently prefer to use the perfume in the evenings after bathing, when I am creamed and oiled. It balances me out, grounds me in the truest sense, and gives my agitated, strained, sometimes frightened mind peace.

The progression is relatively straightforward - you get what it says, a little more, but little development, no change. The scent is there from the very beginning and stays.
I love it.
Like a long hug after a long, exhausting day, it recharges the senses.
It's a shame it's no longer produced.
Otherwise, I would have a supply that never runs out.
For tough days.

Warm, warmer, Victoire d'Ambre
I was made aware of this fragrance by a friend. It smells wonderfully warm like caramel, but without becoming too sweet. This is nicely balanced by a woody note, giving the scent, as has been described here several times, a cozy atmosphere. Personally, I imagine a wooden cabin where an inviting fireplace beckons for relaxation. There is no more perfect scent for the winter season!

A beautiful, creamy spicy and sweet-resinous scent that can also be worn by men. This one should stay in the lineup.

Skinny vanilla-amber. Very cozy and perfect for the upcoming season. I think it's really well done. Not a copy like last year.

Luckily, I don't notice any caramel...otherwise I wouldn't be so thrilled with this (for me) currently most beautiful Rituals scent.

Warm, enveloping, smoky, slightly resinous, smoky caramel cotton candy, very well-known... Vanitas! A candidate for the Christmas market.

Very beautiful amber-vanilla scent, cozy-soft-wintery. Special features: none. Just lovely, and affordable too. H&S rather weak!

This opulently embroidered cashmere blanket with golden vanilla threads tells me with a resinous touch that staying in is the only option.
