Penhaligon's - An Obituary for Headless, Vegetarian Scents, Fourth Strike
Lemons and limes are different types of citrus fruits, but they have similar properties and can therefore be used interchangeably, for example in the kitchen. However, compared to lemon, lime has a slightly milder acidity along with characteristic aromatic-spicy notes that I personally appreciate very much. I prefer to drink a Whiskey Sour with a mix of lemon and lime juice, sometimes even just with the latter.
Penhaligon’s must have taken the opening sentence literally, as Extract of Limes is essentially just a lime twist on the classic Eau de Cologne, which olfactorily embodies the mentioned aromas. Neroli and Petitgrain seem to support the extremely naturalistic representation of lime. This fragrance concept is very simply constructed, but it works brilliantly.
All in all, a somewhat different, but at least just as refreshing Cologne with typical longevity, which I greatly appreciate in the summer.
And, as a side tip: In these crazy times, mood enhancers like this fine, invigorating water can work wonders - good vibes in a bottle! And the short longevity leads to frequent mood boosts - you just have to reach for the bottle often and a lot :D Another pleasant side effect is that due to the alcohol solution, Extract of Limes also has a disinfecting effect. Just like any other perfume, by the way. So I wish you a few particularly fragrant weeks, stay healthy!
This sounds wonderful! As a big fan of citrus fresheners, this scent would definitely be something for my nose. And we could really use some mood boosters.
