Penhaligon's - An Obituary for Headless, Vegetarian Scents, Seventh Strike
I had found a treasure map in our kitchen, labeled in ornate letters "Shopping List." It spoke of crates of the finest paper of inestimable value, and fragrant treasures meant to protect against evil spirits. Naturally, I quickly hoisted the sails of our four-wheeler and set out on a quest for the promised treasures with the help of this treasure map. The journey was long and arduous, and I experienced many adventures along the way. Among other things, a young sailor tried to board me in the dangerous outskirts of an industrial area. As an old sea dog, I knew how to prevent this in time and soon reached the longed-for destination. In the distance, I could already see the blue E on a yellow background mentioned on the treasure map, under which the treasure was supposed to be buried, nestled in the densely wooded mountains behind the rugged cliffs. After a day's march through the jungle, I finally arrived at the said spot and was horrified to discover that I was not the first. Two female pirates had arrived before me and were already dueling over the precious treasure. But they could not have been the first on the scene, as the hole was already dug and many chests were empty - only a few of the valuable rolls remained, which now provided the two with a reason for their duel, while all the fragrant protection and cleansing treasures were already gone. A fight would have had little chance of success, as they seemed too determined. I had to return home empty-handed and was a bit afraid of my queen's reaction. But I knew of something in my treasure chamber that could appease her - it was not quite the desired soap, but very similar in scent and of even greater value: a small sample of Jubilee Bouquet.
Jubilee Bouquet - I had the opportunity to test the vintage version in the splash bottle with a yellow ribbon, for which I owe my deepest thanks to the lovely Serafina - is at its core a soapy scent. Initially, it is a spicy clove soap, softened by light hesperidic notes. Then it turns into a powdery floral soap, warm and of royal elegance. Then moss soap, also warm and soft and just a little scratchy. This scent treasure can tell stories of old kings and queens, old tales that are true, or perhaps not, stories that are beautiful and sometimes a little sad, stories from a distant land far across the sea.
I want to find such a treasure! I can already see myself drawing a treasure map; one must still be allowed to hope. I just don't know yet where it will lead. And for this treasure, I will not arrive too late, that is certain.
