The Hall in the Peaks

In the heart of the Peak District...
You go for a brisk walk through the woodland on your estate. The air is filled with the fresh scent of trees, and lush greenery. Leaves crunch beneath your feet, and gentle raindrops patter on your jacket, soon replaced by a warm, diffused sunlight filtering through the canopy above. Emerging from the woods, you find yourself in a clearing, where the distant silhouette of a Georgian mansion greets you.

After a bath, you indulge in a wet shave, using a double-edged razor, shaving brush, and a horn bowl. After, you spritz on The Cut: a blend of mint, lavender, cypress, and fir balsam. It envelops you, providing an initial bracing burst of coolness that revives your senses. It bites.

Dressed in tailor-made brown trousers slightly wider than usual, reminiscent of a 1950s silhouette, you slip into a crisp white shirt and a vintage Hermès tie. A small, discreet watch - perhaps a Patek manual-wound piece, on a leather strap, rests on your wrist. A small, unobtrusive gold signet ring, engraved with a delicate design, adorns your little finger.

You settle into the library, the walls are adorned with large landscape paintings and portraits of figures from history, while worn wooden shelves and bookcases hold leather-bound folios. A softly flickering fireplace casts a warm glow in the corner. Your Labrador is snoozing in a nearby bed.

Putting on your round tortoiseshell reading glasses, you pick up a piece of parchment and an antique Meisterstück. The Cut is creating a subtle, yet alluring aroma, a harmonious blend of fresh, earthy, smoky, and softly spicy notes. It’s a comforting scent.

The scent of the woods lingers on you.
