Yo ho ho and a bottle full of vanilla!
My title refers to perhaps the most famous pirate song of all time, especially rediscovered through the Pirates of the Caribbean films:
“Fifteen cats on a dead cat’s chest.
Meow meow ho and a bottle of milk!”
Uh, you say that the song doesn’t go like that? Oh really? Are you sure about that?
Well, okay… the correct lyrics are of course:
“Fifteen men on a dead man’s chest.
Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!”
Well, you can look up the rest of the lyrics on the internet. However, the bottle and the term Caribbean in the name of the fragrance really reminded me of pirates and those pirate movies :D
And let’s be honest, the bottle looks like a bottle full of rum, doesn’t it? :D
And I wouldn’t mind if the scent had a hint of rum!
It is strong, but not too intense, although the sweetness of the scent is quite high. As always, this vanilla is beautifully powdery.
Somehow there seems to be a sharper or spicier note in the scent, which I can’t quite identify and is unfortunately not further specified here. But this note is rather weak, as the vanilla is definitely in the foreground. And it remains that way until the scent eventually fades away. Strictly speaking, nothing special, as it is (almost) just vanilla, but it smells good nonetheless.
Vanilla-wise, the scent also lasts long on the skin, meaning over ten hours is easily achievable.
The label is the most beautiful feature of the bottle, as it shows a drawn tropical island, which has been aged to look old and comes across as interesting and great.
Yes, the scent smells, as you might have already guessed, actually only of vanilla, even though it should have a slightly spicy scent in the background (but indeed very weak). The scent is naturally pleasant due to the vanilla, but it might come across as a bit too simple for some and is therefore perhaps only recommended for vanilla fans.
Since the scent is not too heavy despite its sweetness, it can be worn well on not too hot spring days, possibly also in late summer; otherwise, the scent fits best in autumn and winter. You can use the scent daily, when going out, or if you want to go on a raid on a sailing ship with an eye patch and flintlock pistol,… that’s up to you… arrrrrrrr!

The scent:
The scent starts with vanilla. Actually, just vanilla. It’s that fragrance note that smells as if you’ve just opened a bag of vanilla to start baking, very authentic, soft, and gentle. Just vanilla,… you know it! :DIt is strong, but not too intense, although the sweetness of the scent is quite high. As always, this vanilla is beautifully powdery.

The sillage and longevity:
The sillage is strong, not overwhelming, but it is noticeable, and not just at a short distance. Vanilla-wise, the scent also lasts long on the skin, meaning over ten hours is easily achievable.
The bottle:
The bottle has, as described, a bottle shape, similar to that of rum, etc. The color of the glass is light brown, which fits well with the shape. I believe there is no cap; instead, there is a metal loop hanging from the neck of the spray head, which probably prevents accidental spraying. The label is the most beautiful feature of the bottle, as it shows a drawn tropical island, which has been aged to look old and comes across as interesting and great.
