Warmer scent for warm days
And once again, a fragrance brand that I had never heard of before. But thanks to a lovely perfumer who sent me a sample of the scent, I too get to enjoy this fragrance, allowing me to once again plague you with one of my never-ending comments :D
This time it’s about a woody scent, more specifically, cedarwood, which has a very distinctive scent and smells good in many fragrances (provided the scent is well made and you like it, and so on...). Well, let’s see how this one is.
**What do you smell? **
The fragrance starts with both citrus notes (namely grapefruit) and the (now already very strong) cedarwood. Quickly, medium-strength pepper and green-fresh notes join in. With the initial notes of grapefruit and pepper, the scent has something of the probably well-known Terre d’Hermès, but it is noticeably lighter and a bit more floral and, as mentioned, greener. And of course, woodier :D
A few minutes later, now in the heart note, the fragrance takes on a pleasantly sweet character due to the jasmine and violets, while the roses are rather weak.
Despite the sweet notes, the pepper also becomes a bit stronger later on, but never to the point where it starts to scratch unpleasantly in the throat or tingle in the nose; you can just perceive the pepper more in the projection of the fragrance, which pushes the sweet notes a bit into the background from now on. However, the scent also becomes somewhat creamier.
Thus, even a bit later, you still smell the pepper and the cedar. In the base, as indicated, the leather comes in and becomes another main player alongside the pepper and cedar, as these three fragrance notes are best perceived from the base onward.
**The longevity and sillage:**
Even though I initially compared the scent to Terre d’Hermès, this fragrance does not have the projection of the Hermès scent at all. Instead, it is above average, which means it is still somewhat noticeable, but does not maintain this level for many hours. For a summery, fresh scent, it’s quite okay.
The longevity is also just above average at about six hours, but it’s still sufficient.
**The bottle:**
The bottle is cylindrical with a very thick glass bottom and is topped with a gold-plated cap. The label is square and also gold-plated. Quite simple in itself, but still okay.
Hmm, Cedar Atlas has become a nice scent for warm days, even if the scent itself feels a bit warm later on. Because despite the pepper, which is always present and can be smelled more or less at times, it is never overwhelming, making it hardly bothersome even on hot days. It also ensures that the scent initially, as described, slightly reminds me of Terre d’Hermès (at least for me), which is also a very nice fragrance.
Due to the woody and leathery notes, I find this scent more of a men’s fragrance than unisex, even though it should have sweet-floral notes in the background later in the base.
It has an above-average good sillage, but for going out, it is still a bit weak and should occasionally be reapplied.
I would definitely recommend giving it a test!

When it passes by my nose... wooden goblet, hand-carved.
