Rounded Wood Aromatics with Fresh Leather Note
Comparatively often, I come across fragrances from houses that are completely unknown to me while browsing. Then I reach for my glasses and my phone, and of course, Parfumo is the first choice for initial information.
Here on Parfumo, only three fragrance notes are listed, but this and a quick skim through reviews and statements were enough to make a blind buy.
A strong scent, but the three notes are probably not everything.
The top notes include Indian pepper, grapefruit, and cardamom, the heart notes are violet leaf, Egyptian jasmine, and Bulgarian rose, and the base notes consist of Atlas cedar, leather, and Indonesian patchouli leaf.
This allows for a bit more to work with.
The sharp, tickling pepper, the slightly camphoraceous or eucalyptus-like cardamom, and the zesty grapefruit are well noticeable at the beginning, although the grapefruit, as is unfortunately usual, quickly fades away.
However, the floral-tinged, namesake cedar breaks through immediately, with the flowers - from my perspective and for my nose fortunately - staying in the background. The rather dry - sometimes almost dusty - spicy cedar is softened and mellowed by this.
The thus rounded wood aromatics feature a leather note that has a consistently masculine aura for my nose and additionally lends the fragrance a touch of freshness. Thus, Cedar Atlas is suitable for numerous occasions such as the office and social events as well as for leisure, sports, and going out. This may also apply to all seasons, but that still needs to be tested.
For a date, the scent seems a bit too distant and not sensual enough for me personally, but that is always a matter of taste.
This blind buy has definitely been worth it!
The unusually slender cylindrical bottle for a masculine fragrance appears simple yet classic, which is enhanced by the slightly decorated, quite heavy cap.
