Lake Garda in a Bottle

In my younger years, I was always drawn to distant places. Driven by the desire to see everything in the world, the further away, the better. I still haven't seen everything and I won't - at least not in this life. But I don't need to anymore, or let's say - I don't want to anymore. With each passing year, I learned to appreciate simplicity. "Uncomplicated" and "reduced" fill me more and more, and I also learned to appreciate the closeness to nature and the love for vacation destinations in Europe and at the borders of Germany. Especially Italy, the land of "Amore" and zest for life.

I never would have believed I would become a camping bride. I also had a very limited idea of campsites, tents, their jogging-suited inhabitants, and the sanitary facilities. Today, I can't imagine anything else, and where does all this take place - at Lake Garda. Amid blooming caper bushes, chirping crickets, yes - here and there something crawling, and the intoxicating scent of wild lemons. The wild lemons are smaller than the ones we know from the store, also inedible, but with a scent to kneel for.

The fresh fruity lemon note begins with AV in the top note and runs through the entire fragrance progression, contrasting for me with cedarwood. The exotic Mediterranean flora of Lake Garda also stands in contrast to the snow-covered peaks of the Trentino Alps, yet they form a wonderful unity.

From March onwards, spring arrives at Lake Garda. Crocuses, violets, and delicate mimosa bloom, and soon forsythias join in. Cherry blossoms make everything appear in a clear, fresh, and pure white. Although violets and mimosa do not belong to AV, the broom adds a pure freshness to this fragrance that I also know from Aria di Mare, which smells of sun and saltwater. However, I do not perceive it as a good-mood or pure vacation scent. It awakens in me a feeling of life. The feeling of people who remain calm and friendly even in the greatest stress, who can enjoy. Living life, love, and desire, and in this way, they are incredibly lovable and sympathetic. They have style and class for me and at the same time a certain lightness, from which I sometimes wish to take a bit more. Even if AV does not have a great fragrance progression, it is still extremely noble and stylish. It possesses a clarity that I find uncomplicated but not flat. It is very distinctly perceived without being intrusive, and it has very good longevity.

I suddenly think of a special orchid species that blooms at Lake Garda but is unfortunately becoming rarer - the bumblebee orchid. This flower does not attract with its sweet nectar, as other flowers do, but with a special sexual attractant. Please forgive me if I make a connection to AV at this point. For me, this fragrance also has a very appealing eroticism, which probably lies more in the overall composition than in the individual fragrance components. Whether man or woman, AV would be an attractant for me.

Addendum: My oldest son was just sniffing around me and said: "Mom - I know that scent, all the girls smelled like that in the disco on Saturday night." Thanks - that’s a clear foul!!! Can that be?

That's exactly what I just wrote to dear Parfumo, who made me a decant!! I'm thrilled, this is the scent of Italy in a bottle for me. And your associations with the lemon groves by Lake Garda, that fits perfectly!

I fell in love with Lake Garda three months ago, so I definitely need to try the scent that goes with it.
Thanks for the comment and the trophy!

Nice comment on a fragrance I'm not familiar with. I like the smell of lemon, just not on myself :o)

Yeah, beautiful Italy, one of my favorite travel countries... :-)) And Lake Garda is great too (but I prefer staying in a hotel *duck*). You've made a lovely association there! I can totally relate :-))
