Mediterranean Magic

Tired of all the new releases in recent months, I finally wanted a fragrance that not only pleases me but also touches me and is worth its price. So far, I have had little luck with niche fragrances or found them to be over-hyped. Perhaps it is also because I haven’t found the right ones except for 3-4 gems. Thanks to a YouTuber, I became aware of the brand Profumum Roma. Since we don’t have a perfumery with extraordinary scents nearby, I went to Hannover to the Parfümerie Liebe, which many will surely know (great selection, very competent & friendly staff!).
I actually just wanted to test, not buy... well, you can guess how that went with the not buying part :-)

I tested wonderful fragrances, but I was already excited by Ichnusa on the test strip. So it went on my skin, and I had the whole day to get to know the scent well. I wandered around Hannover with a companion: Ichnusa on my right arm and BDK Tubereuse Imperial (the second test candidate that made it onto my skin) on my left arm. After 2 hours, it was clear that Ichnusa had completely conquered me (if not from the very beginning, I’m not so sure anymore ;-)). The BDK is also nice, but it has to wait until autumn :-)

Ichnusa starts off fresh-green, slightly herbaceous, and is perfectly suited for spring & summer; I’m curious to see how it performs in autumn/winter. Over time, the scent becomes earthy-woody-sensual and slightly creamy, a wonderful natural note envelops me comfortably and lifts my spirits. I don’t really perceive fig; it smells more like a light patchouli note to me, or that’s how I perceive it. Regardless, it’s a wonderful note that feels very elegant. Thanks to the very high perfume oil content, the scent lasts a long time (on clothes for days!) and has a wonderful sillage. It always remains natural and never becomes annoying; it’s as if the scent perfectly merges with my skin chemistry, and it reminds me of a person? Situation? (I still have to figure that out). In short, the fragrance is exactly what I was looking for: elegant, energizing, lasts very well, has sillage, isn’t worn by every second person, is timeless, and definitely has signature potential.

The bottles from Profumum Roma are all kept simple, which I think suits them well; the sprayer is quite fine. Additionally, a small travel bottle with a roll-on and a pipette for refilling is included, as well as a cap for the large bottle to prevent any leaks when taking it along.

I certainly gulped a bit at the price, but the purchase is/was worth it. I enjoy this wonderful fragrance every day, which - the longer I wear it - I like more and more. It’s definitely not the last fragrance from this brand; I already have a few candidates on my list ;-)

I think you described this scent very accurately and thoroughly. I also find this combination of fresh, herbal, and soft notes really beautiful, just like you do. The thing about the patchouli is interesting; I’ll have to pay attention to that.
