Interesting Facts
In ancient times, Sardinia was called "Ichnusa" by the inhabitants of the Greek island Eúboia.

The name is still being used today in Sardinia - for streets and restaurants. The most popular use, however, is for the beer of the same name that is being brewed in Sardinia.

Fun, grassy fresh scent
It reminds me a bit of Zoologist, in that it smells like it could be some forest creature's habitat. The fact that "ichnusa" is also the Latin root for "mongoose" inevitably influences my perception of it as well. It feels like a playful animal rolling in the grass, or like you're laughing with friends in the early summer, the dew on the grass of the park is warming up, and a fig tree provides you with some shade. Not something I need a full bottle of immediately, especially at the Profumum Roma prices, but a beautiful piece of art that is worth sampling for sure!

Another Fig Scent
This is a linear bright, green, grassy fig scent. Its like spring in a bottle but without flowers. Its more realistic grass than fig and while the fragrance is good, but it isn't great. Unfortunately, In a market saturated with fig scents this one really doesn't stand out. Its not particularly memorable, doesn't last as long as some other fig scents, and doesn't have complexity that you can find in other fragrances. When you are up against a gourmand fig like Fig Porn by Born to Stand Out or powerful green citrus like Adam and Eve's Dress by Lorenzo Pazzaglia, you need more complexity or lasting power to compete. This fragrance lasted about 3 hours on skin and during those three is had decent projection. This fragrance is also €90 for 18ml and €265 for 100ml. I think that kind of money is better spent elsewhere.

Nice, green fig, worth sampling
I loved the opening of this fragrance--a green, herbal, fig. It was really beautiful and bucolic. It wasn't coconutty, thank goodness. The problem is that as it dried down, it became a bit more soapy--musky with some vanilla. I wasn't a fan for most of the time it was on my skin, but it had so much potential at first. I still recommend fig lovers try it because it's nothing like other fig fragrances out there, which often use coconut and tea. This one smells a little tropical, but a little like the Italian countryside in spring too (well, at first anyway).

Uplifting, green/woody fig with limited longevity
This is so nearly full-bottle worthy for me. Ichnusa is not a juicy and sweet fig fragrance. Rather, this zingy green scent has a much more savory and woody/grassy character.

Quite linear, what you get in the first 10-15 minutes is pretty much what you get throughout the life of the fragrance. For this first couple of hours, this summer leaning beauty really shines. But for the prices that the Profumum Roma fragrances run, I have to say the longevity disappoints.

For two hours, I get good push and it's very noticeable in the air. Hours 3-5, it's fairly quiet but I do pick up traces. Hour 6+ it is quite faint and barely a skin scent. Longevity is my one issue, I love the composition, and if it were in the $100-150 range, I'd snap it up in a heartbeat. Definitely worth sampling.

My mother peed in my oasis
My first comment here, and should it be a tear?
Well, not exactly.

A few years ago I came across Parfumo, collected all kinds of samples and put everything under my nose - almost inhaled. In the back of my mind always hear my former chemistry teacher say "Fragrances we fan to"
Well, not exactly.

Ignoring my chemistry teacher I rummaged through my collection and found Profumum Romas Ichnusa. And what did I do? I saw, I took, I inhaled. And there I was, catapulted into another world.
Well, not exactly.

I was still sitting on the couch. But as soon as I smell Ichnusa and close my eyes, I find myself in an oasis. I smell grass - so juicy and green. I smell exotic plants and in the distance I can sense the sea.
Unfortunately, this top note is of short duration for me. But even then I simply feel safe with this scent. The grass becomes slightly smoky/woody, slightly more masculine. At the same time a sweetness opens up, so soft and balanced that it can also be worn by men.

I must openly admit that I tested the fragrance years ago in search of a fragrance that would take me to the sea. That's how it is with wanderlust.
Does he succeed?
Well, not quite.

Even then I thought, "God, what a sensational start." But that was it, I didn't deal with it enough. This comment has changed that and I am grateful for this decision. At that time I found this fragrance a bit exhausting, couldn't tell what it was and put it back in the drawer. Also today I am not sure, the note is still available, but
she doesn't bother any more, strangely enough.
Well, not exactly.

There are still people who don't like it. As luck would have it, my mother smelled the scent on me that day and only replied "What kind of plörre do you have there? It smells like a toilet block."
Well, that's what it is, my oasis. No sea. More like a backyard with vegetation in the heart of Naples. And on the house wall, apparently, someone's been doing his business.

I’m very familiar with the island of Sardegna which inspired this scent. I was hoping for more myrtle and less grass.

Fresh, green, bitter, spicy and slightly woody. If you want to smell like a fig tree, this is the scent for you. The projection is too weak.

Fig leaves, green fig, fig sap... very very green just like the plant. The myrtle adds some herbal and slightly sweet touches. Beautiful!

Have you ever snapped a green twig from a living branch and smelled it? Green grass, green leaves, green stems. And a tiny bit of fig.
