Thanks to Luckyscent.com, I was able to get my hands on samples of "Profumum Roma" quite well, affordably, and relatively quickly.
My first test candidate is now "Neroli." Since today is a very sunny and exceptionally beautiful day, I thought a scent "around oranges" would fit perfectly.
So I put a few drops on the back of my hand. Almost immediately, a citrusy smell spreads. Very unpleasant, very synthetic. OK, top notes can be peculiar, and usually something more agreeable follows relatively quickly. Unfortunately, in this case, it does not for me! I have been enduring this scent for a full two hours, and absolutely nothing is happening. Is it the myrrh or the neroli? I have no idea. The scent profile of neroli is described as "floral, sweet-fresh, slightly spicy-herbaceous." Citrus is missing from that list. I also can't even detect a hint of orange blossoms and/or orange wood. Something is definitely off between the label and the bottle's contents! Label deception? That must be it.
For me, this scent completely fails, as I have little desire to smell like a cleaning agent or a toilet block!
