A swimming pool surprise
That was not my plan at all. (That's how many comments start, isn't it?) But this scent comes across as too bad in the ratings so far.
So bad, that after opening my sample letter post I asked myself, oops, why did I order this for testing?
The lesson: Don't take the evaluation points so seriously.
I find Mandarin Moon surprisingly just wonderful.
The Sillage is crass at the beginning, but quickly descending. At the very beginning, admittedly even a hint of space spray, uuh. At the beginning also a bit sweet, but that also calms down. With a wave of green. And mandarin is he, that already. (For a moment there was a hint of "Erfrischungsstäbchen" - do you still know it? Grandma always had them in the fridge. The coolness took away too much of the sweetness.) My grapefruit is subtle, just spicy. Vetiver gives seriousness, but the lightness remains. It blows... Soft and fresh at the same time. Fresh water. Something - what is it? - smells super like a swimming pool. (Sometimes I almost feel as if a miniature trace of chlorine is coming through. But I guess it's a memory track?) So sympathetic that I bought it spontaneously! Although I am neither fond of tangerines nor of swimming pools. Well, what do you know?
For me, Mandarin Moon is clearly a daytime scent, for sunny days. (I have also tried Mandarin Moon in the evening. That was not a good idea; somehow the procedure doesn't work out, at least for me :-)
Adhesive about 6h... I thought. At first. But then he came back after a pause. For just that long! This time with a little bit more "grubby" note, also this one I like. The sky is darker now, a nuance of uncontoured, grey, maybe even a little sepia... pleasant after such a day with a swimming pool memory. It's like tapping the towel off dry grass, packing my bag, finally some shade and a round of alone time. Is that the moon of the Mandarin? Nice
The fact that we are dealing with a natural scent gives us feel-good points once again.
