desert-soft warmth
arizona. october.
you’ve spent the whole day outside, wandering through the desert...
the automatic transmission hums, the old chevy gently rocks you along the long, straight roads. you have to stop again and again to enjoy. this vastness gives you a feeling of eternal freedom… the shimmering silence, inescapable, a dense yet lightly floating fabric… the sun has parched the earth over the summer… its dry-rough scent envelops you - comforting and relentless…
you return to the lodge where you’ve rented a room. it’s already evening, the air noticeably cold. your skin, still sun-warmed, shivers.
you are the only guest here. you sink into the old, worn leather sofa. someone has lit a fire in the fireplace. you lean your head back, tired and fulfilled from the day, and surrender to the story of this place, this region…
the wood from which the lodge is built has collected all sorts of stories over the many years and generously shares them with those who listen... images arise, memories of you and this place in other times surround you…
the cold night air carries the scent of the sun-heated earth inside, dry and sweet. the trees release the heat of the day into the night air with relief. the scent of stories mingles with that of the wood and the earth…
and always, when you sip your bourbon, the soft aroma of vanilla, imparted to the whisky by the charred oak barrels, adds to the desert scent...
you exhale. relief.

this is room 64 for me. I received the fragrance as a free sample with an order and sprayed it directly on my hand, unaware of what to expect, and without having read the description. and bam: I was exactly where I described above.
I find it hard to describe the scent and the notes I perceive, to break them down into their individual parts. every fragrance note is perceptible the whole time. everything is carried by the combination of patchouli, birch, and tobacco. dry-earthy smoke, reminiscent of a fire or whisky barrel. delicate jasmine and pleasantly dry, non-gourmand vanilla make this mix soft and supple, almost silky. the scent gently envelops me, warming and loving. comforting-soothing in the evening, grounding me throughout the day.
the longevity is very good, I think. on my skin, it usually lasts 6-9 hours. I don’t care about the sillage; I wear a fragrance only for myself anyway. and the bottle feels very smooth in the hand, and I like the weight of the cap, it somehow fits the scent.
give it a try!
