The summer of my life. I am on Interrail in Nice, it is warm, almost tropical. We spent the day mostly strolling around. Now it's evening, and we are getting ready for an unforgettable night in probably the most beautiful port city on the Côte d'Azur. The sky is slowly turning orange, we are sitting on the windowsill of our hostel, each enjoying a baguette with canned tuna - Yes, we were young and saved wherever we could. In the background, Summer Air by the Italo Brothers is playing. The anticipation for the evening is rising; we had booked a pub crawl online, a guided party through the best bars in the city with a club visit afterward. And what can't be missing? A good perfume to impress the ladies. We went to our suitcases, I took out my bottle of Polo Black and started to spritz myself. My buddy, who, like me back then, was completely "unfamiliar" with perfumes, also wanted a few sprays of this divine concoction. In hindsight, a rather naive view of the world of perfumes. At that time, I owned only one other perfume besides Polo Black, namely CK Eternity, which I thought was perfectly sufficient back then. The scent is, in my opinion, anything but Black and fits perfectly for a warm summer night, as it combines light fruitiness and seductive sweetness. Perfect for us 18-year-olds with the goal of impressing girls in the club. We just felt so mature as we set out on the streets towards the promenade, where two dozen party enthusiasts gathered for the pub crawl. For me personally, Polo Black describes the carefree time on Interrail between high school graduation and university, during which I not only had incredible experiences but also matured internally. Always accompanied by this wonderful scent. In hindsight, I must say that I probably don't look back on this scent entirely objectively and likely rate it higher than many others. But that’s the beauty of fragrances - the many memories, beautiful moments, which allow for a purely subjective view of scents.
Even if I can't say much about the notes, I hope I have conveyed the special atmosphere of this fragrance to you.
