Safari for men smells really great and even unique and while it doesn't smell "dated", there's certainly a mature vibe about the scent as it definately harkens back to fragrances of the 90's FOR SURE! Starts off fruity/citrusy with the aldehydes giving it an effervescence brightness yet the aldehydes are NOT too prominent like in fragrances such as Aramis by Aramis or Grès by Cabochard (both of which I love btw) and so the nite just serves to give Safari lift.
My favorite part is the Dry-Down bc I get that gorgeous, creamy Sandalwood which is done in the more classic way vs the dryer "wood shavings/pickle juice" way like in Santal 33 which I admit I also enjoy.
There is one fragrance which Safari really does remind me off especially in the opening and early mid and that scent is Aramis'- New West although at the far dry-down they become completely different as New West focuses more on the Leather vs Safari which most def goes into the Sandlewood at far dry-down. I have actually layered the two and they TRULEY smell perfect together as they practically become one scent bc they share so many notes. Safari goes into a skin-scent within 45 mins
