The Emperor's Boring Clothes

I have been waiting for the launch of LRE in Germany for quite some time. Yesterday, it was finally available at Alsterhaus, and I could test it.

Joyfully sprayed on, disappointment quickly set in. Rancé has not introduced any innovation in this program.
It seems that mass appeal is the new credo for this brand as well.

The top note was still the highlight of the fragrance journey. The blend of lavender and anise with a splash of orange blossom is delightful.

After that, the LRE develops on my skin into a boring men's fragrance, similar to many others already available on the market.
Both intensity and longevity are mediocre, and for a fragrance in this price range (90.00 € / 100 ml), this is another drawback.

Somehow, I expected a bit more from a brand like Rancé than this generic scent.

Conclusion: what a shame!
