To this day, the name Rancé 1795 stands for the best tradition and the art of the finest perfumes. With a history of more than 400 years, the fragrance house is one of the world's oldest family businesses in the field of perfume development.
At the beginning of the 16th century, the Rancé family became famous for producing perfumed gloves for the French aristocracy in Grasse, France.
In 1795, François Rancé turned entirely to perfumery - hence the brand name. His innovative spirit led him to create extremely refined and modern perfumes, which made him Napoleon's personal perfumer - for him he created exclusive fragrances such as "Le Vainqueur" ("Collection Impériale - Le Vainqueur"), "Triomphe" ("Collection Impériale - Triomphe") and "L'Eau de Austerlitz".
In honor of Josephine Bonaparte, he created "L'Impératrice", which he presented to the Empress in a precious Sevres casket (Sevres is a hand-painted jewelry box made of high-quality French-style porcelain; the last example of this precious porcelain art object is kept in the Rancé archive).
In 1902, Alexandre Rancé moved to Milan, where the company's headquarters are still located and the family tradition continues with exquisite fragrances, perfumed creams, soaps and aromatherapy products.
The philosophy of Rancé 1795 is clear and unambiguous: the use of natural raw materials is still a specialty today. Precious essences, many rare ancient documents and an incredible variety of precious cosmetic formulas, revive and innovate past, present and future.
