Aventus Dupe the umpteenth time
I never tire of searching for the best Aventus dupe.
Since I already have Insurrection II Pure and appreciate it as a lighter, less masculine, fruitier alternative to Aventus, I wanted to see what the Extreme has to offer.
The bottle design and packaging are similar to the "regular" Insurrection.
However, the scent is quite different from the standard version. The top note comes very close to my 2020 Aventus batch.
You can clearly tell that the accents here are set differently than in the standard version, which is very soft, light, and vanilla-like. The Extreme is found more at the other end of the approach to Aventus. It’s not sharp-citrusy like CDNIM, but still noticeably darker. Although I can't pinpoint from the fragrance pyramid what causes this smokier aroma. It’s not very complex from the heart note onwards, but it is stronger and longer-lasting than the standard version.
I would need to smell them side by side: the 2020 Aventus, Montblanc Explorer, and Insurrection II Pure Extreme. I would say they have a strong similarity at the beginning. In the end, however, the Insurrection runs less smoothly.
Overall, for 20 euros, it's definitely not a bad purchase.
