Book of Hours - Iron Gall Ricardo Ramos - Perfumes de Autor 2021

So, this fragrance is inspired by medieval manuscripts... Well, I can certainly picture the small storeroom filled with vials and herbal mixtures used for illuminating texts.
Deeply aromatic, less intimate than Veneno pa tu piel.
The lavender note is well-done, extremely natural, and doesn't give me that soapy vibe of a generic lavender product.
Nothing in all of this remotely reminds me of the ink used by monks, but rather a drawer where the various ingredients for the mixtures are kept.
Slightly smoky at the base, I find it pleasant, but I'm not sure the experiment succeeded.

The Book of Hours suite is inspired by medieval manuscripts. Iron Gall is supposed to represent the ferrogalic ink with which the manuscripts were written. It opens very fresh, the lavender, citrus and cypress prominent and after leading into the impression of ink. Now I do not know how actual iron gall ink smells, but it's very unfortunate that to me that the heart settles into a latex glove and disinfectant scent that is so reminiscent of a dentists' office. The base eventually returns to a more pleasant musk.
