The perfume is an olfactory tribute to Cleo de Mérode, who was described in 1896 by the magazine L'Illustration as "the most beautiful woman in the world". This Parisian woman of aristocratic origins was a model and dancer, dancing on pointe for decades from the age of eight when she joined the ballet of the Paris Opera, and by the age of 13 she was already modeling for artists such as Edgar Degas, Jean-Louis Forain and Toulouse-Lautrec.
