Back to the house of grandparents
Dusty, old place beside a cart-road. Dingy house. A small garden for herbs. It is not a beauty as an orchard, these poor creatures struggle for life and enough moisture, and herbal tea is made from them in the stale evenings. An old man is sitting on the porch, staring at you suspiciously. The old woman is sweeping, she stops, and invites you to the porch. The dust is still on the wing, blending with aroma of pipe from the old man's side and lemonade from the old woman's side. In the room there are sideboards with dried ointments and canvases washed long ago.

This fragrance harboured a journey in my past. My nose feels the herbs, the dust, the dryness of the summer heat, the citrus freshness, and before the lingering endgame of vetiver, the journey shows the tamed, creamy ambush of ylang-ylang. I did not like vetiver, but I am going to change my mind for this exceptional fragrance. This note gets the emphasis, even though the creator meant bigger part for ylang-ylang (more than the ten minutes that I got actually).

Endurance was almost excellent, sillage is rather average.
The name of the artifact refers to Madagascar.
14°S 48°E is a unisex scent. I recommend it for both gender. It is not suitable for seduction, it is not a "night out" scent, rather appropriate for business wear or I suggest to blow it for your own sake in the summer evenings. I would not waste it for daily application, since it would lose the ability of mobilizing memories.

Visit to the Organic Store in 1979
First of all, a heartfelt thank you to Franfan for the opportunity to test this perfume.
Well then, here comes my first comment as promised, and please forgive me for the grammatical errors, which is why I didn't dare to write comments before.

When I read that Vero Kern created this perfume, I was very curious, as I have always found her perfumes to be very sophisticated and very good. The notes also sounded quite good, or at least interesting, in 14°S 48°E.
So, what does it smell like? Dry woods, pepper, carob (you know, that cocoa/coffee substitute), damp henna colors, and maybe even a bit of patchouli. I don't sense any development, and the image I see before me is that of the organic store from 1979 in the title.
Neither on my skin nor on a test strip do I smell the golden ylang-ylang blossoms, and the selected vanilla and cocoa here are woody and brittle. I also don't perceive the juiciness of vetiver.
Maybe there are men who will find 14°S 48°E quite nice, especially those who like dry, somewhat hippie-like scents; yes, I could actually imagine that. Also, those who might find such scents a bit nostalgic and cozy.

If you haven't tried a Vero Kern creation yet, you should definitely do so, but I suggest looking under her own line; Rubj, Kiki, Onda, or Mito are great perfumes. If you want to get to know natural perfumes, I recommend April Aromatics. In this sense, there's a successful and winking contribution to the topic of retro hippie: Bohemian Spice.

The top note is almost unpleasant, which I would blame on the mandarin. After that, a lot of pepper and ylang-ylang.
