Powdery Fresh
Admittedly, this fragrance is not a showstopper, BUT if you want to smell different from the usual suspects in summer, then this scent with the tongue-twister of a name is a nice alternative. And I must slightly disagree with Apicius, as I simply cannot detect any aquatic notes, nor do I see parallels to the aforementioned Bvlgari (which I do not like). But everyone perceives things differently.....
This is the only fragrance from this brand that I liked. I have tested the others, but none left a lasting impression on me.
The scent starts off on my skin already relatively powdery-fresh with a beautiful, expressive anise note. Although the usual citrus notes have been omitted, the fragrance is pleasantly clear right from the start and not too herbal. The tobacco does not play a significant role on my skin.
With the heart note, the spiciness increases, but the fresh impression of the fragrance remains well preserved. Individual notes do not come to the forefront here, and the scent feels very harmonious.
The base extends the heart note more than it significantly alters the fragrance progression. Only a hint of vetiver gives the spice accord from the heart note a soft, green hue.
I must admit that I would never have purchased this fragrance at the original price. Since this brand is supposedly turning its focus back to its original task of building luxury yachts, the fragrances have been sold at half price in many perfumeries.
L'Altra Follia di Aquarama is a beautiful summer fragrance with good longevity and appropriate intensity.
