Bois d'Orange Roger & Gallet 2009
Helpful Review
limited freshness
I usually like citrus notes, at least as a top note.
Sometimes they are mixed with other components, which changes their character. Successful blends with other components, preferably flowers or spices, often result in a captivating top note that sometimes surprisingly extends deep into the fragrance development. Some perfumes are even crafted so that the citrus notes reach far into the base.
Bois d'Orange is one of those examples where this blend has not turned out well.
For me, the mixture with the spices and especially an intrusive neroli is unpleasant. It really smells very orangey and fresh, but it also has a scratchy-intrusive undertone.
Room air fresheners, mostly found in the ceramic sections, often emit a similar scratchy intrusive scent.
Only when the fragrance runs out of steam, which takes quite a long time for a fresh citrus scent, do the softer and woodier tones come to the nose. However, since the scent remains close to the body overall, I have to sniff quite closely.
What a pity, Bois d'Orange just doesn't work for me.

Ich glaube auch, dass ich mir den nicht merken muss. Und lange warten, bis ein Duft schön wird, möchte ich nicht1
