When I first sprayed Open, I had to think of my childhood in the seventies. My father always took me to the swimming pool on Sunday mornings. I couldn't swim yet and probably couldn't get dressed and undressed either, because I always had to go into the men's changing room with him. We were always the only ones struggling in such a single cabin. But it didn't matter, we always had to go through the group changing room anyway. My father always announced that we had to go through "now." No, this isn't about the naked shame of the seventies in the countryside. It's about the scent that lingered in that humid, warm air. Men who smelled freshly showered, most likely of Tabac Original and their personal smoking gear. Because everyone smoked.
That's what I thought of with "Open (Eau de Toilette) | Roger & Gallet." It starts with an aromatic lemon that comes across as "rich" thanks to the lavender. After a while, I think I can also perceive the sage. Thyme doesn't reveal itself to me. And then it comes, the tobacco, which smells so beautifully freshly washed to me here. Probably that's due to the vetiver. But I think it was also in the swimming pool.
I'm glad I got to know this scent and that it reached me, both by mail and emotionally. I don't want to make a statement about longevity and sillage, as I haven't researched that.
I have the scent in my nose now :) wonderful time travel, it brings back many personal memories, thank you for that :)) and it's great that I can wear it alone now :-)
Grand description, I can almost see the changing rooms in front of me. Ah yes, the 70s - maybe that's why I always get so sentimental with this scent. Freshly washed tobacco, exactly.
A trophy for the kids of the 70s! 🏆
