You would need it again today...

Hello everyone,

I realize that this review is probably not for "the broad MASSES," and the people who have had the chance to see or even smell it... there won't be many. I know all of this - of course!

I am one of those who received a (larger) sample back then, and I had the privilege of "exploring" it. Nowadays, this fragrance is almost a unicorn, and that after just about 3 years - seeing one... = very, very rare, and actually getting one "no way," and aside from that, if you do see one, we are quickly talking about €12 to €15 per ml.

Everyone has to decide for themselves whether it is worth it. Besides the scent and the great packaging, you clearly pay the premium for "limited edition" on top...

A few days ago, I had the great luck of owning a bottle now (and no longer just a sample).

I also know the regular/more affordable Manhattan Eau de Parfum quite well (since day one) and can make a pretty good comparison in this regard.

And so the actual review begins!

Right at the BEGINNING.

Yes, they are similar, even very much so, and yes, there are differences - also noticeable ones, but they are more about subtleties/nuances in the sense that some notes are more pronounced than others, and some are weaker than in the other.

For example, the lavender is much more pronounced in "Manhattan (Eau de Parfum) | Roja Parfums," and the whole scent is brighter, clearer, and softer and "more pleasing" than in "Manhattan (Parfum) | Roja Parfums."

It is darker, fuller, denser, and very captivating in a positive sense. It feels like a typical cocktail evening, bar scent from the 20s or 30s in New York. That was, as far as I know, the inspiration behind it. And the vibe is present, and it fits perfectly into this picture.

It has less lavender, less musk, and generally fewer of those (soft and light) floral notes. The noticeable focus of Manhattan Parfum is rather (and this is the biggest difference in my opinion) spicy - resinous, slightly woody, slightly smoky (the dry down is significantly more) and then creamy at the end. It is never sweet or too sweet; it is subtle and very discreet = fitting. I found Manhattan Eau de Parfum to be sometimes too sweet.

H/S!

It is not a MONSTER!

I don't want to set false expectations or anything, but after 8h to 9h and with a bit of luck 10h, the longevity is there, and the sillage is very strong for 30 minutes and then drops to the 1m to 2m range, and Manhattan Parfum becomes a very nice "skin scent" after 4h.

How does it come across + when and where is it recommended?

Back then as well as today = top-notch. I find it really mega mega beautiful, and for this cocktail evening, bar, or nice dining out, it is one of the "BEST and most suitable" that I know. My wife loves it very much, and if SHE loves it and I do too = everything is done right, because happy wife, happy life.

Nowadays, I would really wish that something exactly like this would come back, because it is truly more than fantastic!

It is definitely worth a test!

And now have a nice day/evening or whenever you read this review, best regards, Benny
