Preserved integrity with a modern twist

What a delight this little sample turns out to be.

A bright mellow citrus with a through draft of freshness begins the nose journey. Swiftly followed by a huge undercurrent of powerful, herbal, almost resinous woods on a sea of heavy, almost indolic blossoms. Unusual and instantly captivating.

This is like wandering into an old, cool chapel room from a fresh, floral spring day. The air that was heavy with blossoms is almost oppressive initially but upon wandering into the quiet room, the fresh air returns. There is a heavily polished casket to one side. The furniture polish catching your breath slightly as you open it. Inside is a smart and old fashioned wool suit all laid out. The immaculate cut of the suit is apparent as it has been perfectly preserved by an array of cedar balls and small bunches of lavender and sage arranged carefully all around it. There are small incense beads wafting a resinous quality upon the lid opening. There is a pewter vessel of wine within the casket and you sip some expectantly. The flavour of the wine is still there but the alcohol has long gone.

Curiosity assuaged for now, you return to your thoughts and head toward the door. A smart, handsome and very familiar man is walking past wearing an immaculate wool suit. He is clutching a huge bunch of Iris's and is obviously destined for a romantic encounter. He brushes past some long, dusty, pollen loaded grasses beside the chapel to pass you. His freshly washed and familiar perfume wafts past as he smiles and winks conspiratorially. You look back inside and the suit has gone.

Mysterious, pungent and gentlemanly. Old fashioned yet thoroughly modern. Fascinating and timeless.
