Darker Menthe Fraiche
Laawan reminds me throughout its entire scent journey of Menthe Fraiche by Heeley, although this one is designed to be a touch darker.
I would like to express my sincere thanks to our dear Parfumo "Zirkeltanz" for giving me the opportunity to test Laawan.
The grapefruit peel combined with ylang-ylang strongly reminds me of salmiak pastilles, sweet, dark, with a slight resinous touch coming through.
The pink pepper can be detected far in the background, but it is really very weak, so you have to concentrate a bit to sniff it out; however, in my opinion, it is responsible for giving Laawan a certain freshness.
This "salmiak association" runs through the entire scent journey, only becoming quieter as it progresses.
The top note can be detected on my skin for about 15 minutes before the heart note gradually spreads on my skin.
Delicate - pure jasmine forms a pleasant floral connection with the slightly "powdery" iris, pushing the salmiak pastilles a bit into the background.
The heart note becomes a whole lot deeper thanks to creamy sandalwood and appears to me somewhat uneven, which could be due to it simply being used a tad too much.
This constellation can be detected on my skin for about 3.5 hours before the base takes hold.
The base takes on a slightly balsamic-clean, but also tobacco-like quality, which I attribute here to the white amber and musk.
The cedar gives the base a slightly woody touch and reminds me in certain aspects of Lagerfeld Classic.
Overall, Laawan can be detected on my skin for just under 6 hours.
Unfortunately, the sillage is subpar; at first, one can be perceived well from half an arm's length away, but then it settles into a pure skin scent within 10 minutes.
